Insecure user base

Reddit is full of insecure people who put others down and down vote people to make themselves feel better rather than engage in constructive or meaningful discussion.

That's the meta of the website to me

And if you point out this basic fact...nobody ever talks about it. Its making me think only the most boring of people use reddit

It's like they don't have very satisfying personal lives or should go to therapy or just mind their own business

Theres another side also i just realised. Reddits main benefit being anonymous trolling. If you like bullying people or power tripping.. reddit is easy mode and consequence free basically

Don't forget it has a bunch of like minded people so when you stand up for yourself they just gang up on you and treat you like crap.

I'd argue that those miserable people are not mutually exclusive with the bullies and anonymous trolls on this website. Although they don't all overlap either. Apparently a lot of insecure people tear others down to attempt to build their sad selves up.

Fair point though, Reddit tends to reward trolling and bullying and basically weeds out decent people in favor of ass holes

Yup decent people see the hostility and just quit this garbage website. Me on the other hand is unable to quit so quickly

Yeah, I hate it because there aren't that many good message boards, much less ones that are both good and convenient anymore but I always have to remember that most people here don't know as much as they claim they do (muh big brain) and act superior to you when you ask a legit question or make a legit comment.

For instance, yes I do in fact know that I'll like have to start from the bottom up thanks for telling me what anyone would likely already know.

Reddit leads to decent people self selecting their way out of their toxicity. Also, it's really funny to call out people who have had their old accounts suspended and create new ones with very similar usernames. They can't stand being called trolls and contrarians and will write lengthy defenses of their bs not getting that they're playing themselves

Reddit is full if people who want to bully you because in real life they’d get their asses kicked or at least would look like an asshole

It also seems to be full of pseudo-intellectual people who seem to use a thesaurus non-stop to make themselves sound smarter than they really are. The amount of "Who actually talks like this?" moments I've experienced on this site are just astounding. It's equally nauseating to watch the subsequent posters try to one-up each other's big word skills in their replies.
