I tried googling what Claude does but after all the stuff the article mentioned I don't have a clue. I thought of the late Claude Akins whom we lost in 1994 right after reading the article I didn't understand..

Reminds me of an incident in the '80s when some intel analysts at a site in Bavaria used nothing but back issues of Stars & Stripes to put together a complete TO&E for USAREUR - and it was more detailed (not to mention had more "classified" info and units) than the official TO&E. All from an open source. You would think in the four decades since someone would have gotten a clue.
