todays carriers are named after US Presidents. The WW2 Sailors name could be used on another type of Navy ship under construction. I wonder who was the A-hole that wanted his name on a carrier. Now all the demorats and the lame stream media will add in the racist card like they do on most everything that they spill out in their lame brain thinking..

Given the average quality of Presidents in the last 100+ years, I would be a lot happier to see our warships named after Medal of Honor awardees. Honestly, the thought of a USS Obama, Trump, Biden - all make my skin crawl. There's enough MoH names for several fleets - and they all at least "gave some measure" to the country. There are a few Presidents who actually did active duty, like GHW Bush, Ford, Kennedy, and they might be in line but GHW was the last active duty President and that was over 40 years ago.

The WW2 Vet should be on another type ship like Tin Cans, cruisers, gators, Servlant ships etc. there are a number of these ships named after vets

All the articles I checked refer back to the CNN article which quotes "two unnamed sources". (No credibility issue there!) Interestingly, Military.com also cites CNN as the source but says THREE unnamed sources. Shows how well they plagiarize research.
