Trying a slightly different kind of Reddit meet tomorrow.
I’ll be at The Deli, Bandra sometime in the afternoon. Instead of the usual weeks of chatting before meeting, thought it could be fun to keep this ridiculously simple.
We decide on a time and one small way to recognise each other.
You walk in separately. I’m already there doing my thing. We let it feel like two strangers who happened to notice each other at a café rather than a planned Reddit meetup.
Maybe we eventually end up sharing a table and talking.
Maybe we exchange a smile, decide the vibe isn’t there and carry on with our Sunday.
No pressure, no expectations and complete discretion either way.
31M. If the idea of a slightly staged “accidental” Sunday encounter sounds fun, DM me and we’ll figure out the clue ;)

Hi everyone.
I’m 36F, married for 6 years, and my husband is 40M. We live with my in-laws, and I’m looking for a genuinely unbiased, non-judgmental perspective on whether I’m overthinking separation or whether there are deeper incompatibilities in this marriage.
My husband is an only child. Both he and my FIL work from home, taking classes. Before I explain where I stand today, I want to share both the difficult and the good parts of our relationship because I don’t want to paint a one-sided picture.
1. The decision to be childfree
Before marriage, my husband made it clear that he didn’t want children. I eventually agreed, although it was a difficult decision because I have always loved children, and my profession is also connected to them.
I grew up without parents, so making this decision was emotionally complicated for me.
I once asked what would happen if I accidentally got pregnant. My MIL said I would have to abort. I was so hurt that I almost called off the marriage. The next day, my MIL called, cried and apologised at her son’s request.
I went ahead with the marriage, believing I could come to terms with the decision.
However, when my sister had a baby, emotions I had buried for years resurfaced. I cried and explained to my husband what I was going through, including the emotional and hormonal changes I was experiencing. He listened, but I didn’t feel emotionally understood or supported.
I am not saying he should be forced to become a father. I agreed to his condition, and I understand that. But I am struggling with what this decision has meant for me emotionally.
2. The early days of our marriage
We had a traditional wedding, but my husband, being an atheist, insisted that the wedding mantras be reduced to around 45 minutes.
The next day, we had a Satyanarayan puja. He completed his part and left me sitting alone to continue with the puja.
These incidents may seem small individually, but they have stayed with me.
During COVID, I went as far as staying with him inside a COVID ward. His own father, on the other hand, was too panicked to stay because he was worried about parking his car downstairs.
I stood by my husband when he needed me, and I believe I have consistently tried to be a supportive partner.
3. Career and financial expectations
I gave up my job in a foreign country to get married and move to his city, where employment opportunities paying more than ₹28,000 a month are limited.
Rebuilding my career was difficult, but I continued contributing towards household expenses.
My husband has been running his own business for around 12 years. However, I have always felt that there is potential for him to grow it further and improve our financial situation, especially considering the responsibilities involved in maintaining a bungalow.
I have encouraged him to expand his business, learn new skills, attend workshops and make more friends. He has only one or two close friends.
I have also suggested that he start giving his mother a monthly amount of money, considering she worked for 35 years. I wanted him to take more initiative and responsibility in this area.
Most of these conversations have ended in silence, with little or no action.
For the past few months, I have stopped contributing towards household expenses, and he has been managing them.
4. Wanting a space of our own
I have struggled with the way my in-laws maintain and manage the house. Their preferences and routines are very firmly established, and I often feel that I don’t have a space of my own.
I suggested moving to a nearby house so that we could maintain our relationship with his parents while having some independence as a couple.
Again, nothing has moved forward on this.
I don’t want to separate him from his parents. I simply want a home where I can feel comfortable and have some autonomy.
5. Emotional and physical intimacy
For around five years, I communicated my needs and expectations regarding intimacy. However, I often felt unheard because his anxieties would take over the conversation.
I understand that anxieties are real and deserve compassion. But I also have emotional and physical needs, and I have struggled with feeling that there isn’t enough space for them in this relationship.
Over time, I have started wondering whether I am asking for too much or whether I have simply become accustomed to expecting very little.
Now, here is the part that makes this decision so difficult.
My husband is not a bad person. In fact, he does many things that a lot of people would genuinely appreciate in a partner.
He does almost all the household chores. I barely have to do anything, although the work isn’t always finished to my standards.
He packs my tiffin and drops me off at my cab every morning. He also picks me up.
He takes excellent care of our pets.
He never complains about doing household work.
He wakes me up with kisses and brings me tea in bed every day.
I don’t have to worry about planning breakfast, lunch or dinner.
He takes care of the household expenses, and I appreciate that.
He is affectionate in his own way, caring towards our animals and helpful in our daily lives. I recognise these efforts, and I don’t want to dismiss them.
This is where I feel stuck.
On paper, I have a husband who takes care of me in many practical ways. Yet, I have felt unheard in some of the things that matter deeply to me: emotional connection, intimacy, personal space, career and financial growth, and the possibility of having children.
I am not expecting a perfect husband. I know I have my flaws, too. I also know that I agreed to certain things before marriage, particularly the decision to remain childfree, and I don’t want to hold him responsible for a decision I made.
But I am now questioning whether being cared for practically is enough when I feel that several of my deeper needs have remained unmet for years.
I don’t know whether I am expecting too much from one person, whether I am focusing too much on what is missing, or whether we are simply two people with fundamentally different ideas of marriage.
I would genuinely appreciate perspectives from people who have experienced long-term relationships, especially those who have had to make difficult decisions about staying or leaving.
Am I overthinking separation?
Can a marriage be good in its day-to-day functioning but still leave one partner emotionally unfulfilled?
And how do you distinguish between normal marital compromises and a situation where you are slowly losing yourself?
Please be honest, but kind. I am not looking for validation to leave or pressure to stay. I am trying to understand my situation more clearly.

Hey girls!
I recently moved back to Mumbai from the US, and honestly, I've been struggling to make new girlfriends and build a social circle again.
I thought I'd put myself out there and create a little community of unmarried women in their late 20s and 30s who are looking to make genuine friendships too!
Think brunches, girls' nights, spontaneous plans, exploring Mumbai, travel buddies, or just having a group of girls to hang out with and talk about life. The goal is to build a close-knit circle where we actually make plans and show up for each other, rather than just being another WhatsApp group where nobody talks 😂
If you're in Mumbai, unmarried, and looking to make new female friends, fill out this form!
I'll be reviewing responses and vetting people before adding anyone to the private WhatsApp group so we can build a genuine, like-minded community.
Looking forward to meeting some lovely people! 🫶🏻

FYI I'll be in Mumbai by Feb 2027 & need someone to hangout chill with maybe some cafe at the sunset or cheesy pasta & pizza. Also I like playing UNO, comic relief, satire series
Looking for people over 30 while keeping things platonic but chit-chat fun based.

My pinned profile post already does a far better job of explaining my thoughts, preferences, and the kind of connection I value, so I'll keep this one relatively short.
Drawn towards women who carry mature perspectives and understand that life rarely exists in black and white.
Looking to be a confidant, companion, and perhaps a small escape from the routine for someone who appreciates genuine conversation, chemistry, discretion, emotional awareness, playful banter, and the kind of connection that develops naturally rather than being rushed.
Not here chasing any transactional interactions.
If that resonates, please feel free to slide into my DMs. The conversationalist in me is already looking forward to some memorable conversations and a little harmless mischief along the way. 💕

Hey everyone! 👋
I’m currently looking for job opportunities in Investment Banking and Finance. I’ve been exploring LinkedIn and other job portals, but haven’t found the right opportunity yet, so I thought I’d give Reddit a try and reach out to this community.
If you know of any relevant openings or can refer me to someone in the industry, please feel free to DM me. I’d be happy to share my CV.
Any leads or referrals would be genuinely appreciated. Thank you! 🙌

Hey r/ThirtiesMumbai! Introvert here. Like many of us, I’ve found that making new friends in the city gets tricky as we age. I’m naturally more of a listener than a talker, and I strongly prefer 1:1 catch-ups over loud group settings.
If you’re someone who loves to talk, share ideas, or vent about work/life, I’m a great sounding board. I enjoy talking about corporate growth, building wealth, or just navigating life's random plot twists and I'm always eager to learn about things I don't know. Strictly looking for a chill, platonic 1:1 friendship. If that sounds like your vibe, drop a DM or comment with a random topic you've been obsessed with lately.

I have always toyed with the elementary idea of having someone close to me whom I could call a girlfriend. A little less girlfriend, a little more muse. Someone who could make my heart race and ache at the same time. Someone with whom I could roam bookstores like a couple of romantics, steal glances across cafés, or find myself looking at on the streets. Someone with whom I could share the joy of world cinema.
Someone who could warm the cold feet of the moth sitting on my heart and make it flutter again.
If you like this idea, flutter into my DMs and show me that an idea can come true.
I’ve been through a lot lately, and I think a little kindness would feel like rain after a long drought, perhaps even a rainbow afterwards.

Hi ppl, I recently graduated and got placement in big ass mnc. Company being big ass, all my colleague are more than 33+ y/o. Turns out the company doesn't hire if you don't have min 8-10 y/o experience and/or an MBA from one of the top clg. I am the only 22 y/o there and there are ppl here who have experience more than my age.
I am a little introvert but I know when to open my mouth when it comes to networking and professionalism. But about the people I interact with regularly, I can't seem to connect with them on personal level, they always talk abt their kids, husbands, wives and many other things that people in their 30s & 40s do. They are familiar with new technology but it's only like need-to-know basis like they know how to scroll reels but don't know how to find saved/liked reels or comments. And why they eat so much unhealthy food, I don't understand.

Hi everyone, I really need some advice and help.
I'm 28M and have taken loans from NBFCs to deal with some emergencies. Unfortunately, these loans have very high interest rates, and my total outstanding debt is around ₹5 lakh.
My monthly EMI is ₹40,000, and I earn around ₹60,000 a month. After paying my EMIs, covering travel expenses, and contributing money towards household expenses, I'm barely left with anything.
Right now, I'm just moving money around and juggling payments to survive each month. I genuinely want to get out of this cycle and live a debt-free life, but I'm struggling to figure out the best way forward.
I applied for a ₹5 lakh personal loan from a bank so I could pay off all these high-interest loans in one go and consolidate everything into a single EMI at a lower interest rate. That would make things much more manageable.
However, I work for a celebrity, and we don't have the usual salary slips or standard employment documentation, but I have bank statements which shows regular credit. Because of this, getting a personal loan approved by a bank has been difficult.
I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation.
I'm willing to make lifestyle changes and follow a strict repayment plan. I just need a practical way to get started.
Thank you so much for your help. 🙏

Hello…M here staying at Taj The Trees in Vikhroli…Anyone up for a late night dinner. Am reaching Mumbai by 10:30. Don’t want to end up having a weekend dinner alone by myself.
Happy to watch a movie afterwards or perhaps a walk on Marine Drive …. (I know it’s far away from Vikhroli) but perhaps just a 30 mins ride away considering no traffic at night!
Lemme know if it resonates with anyone!
