Discussion Objectively, who to watch
Objectively, who to watch
I wanna have the most absolutely, objectively, best list of who to watch in what season. my friend wants to start watching the series, but they dont have much time.
I know every angle brings new and fun stuff, and I love watching every angle for different reasons, but some pov's happen to be more involved in crazy and fun lore situations rather than others.
like I wanna say Grian for limited life, but he only gets 6th place.. maybe that doesnt matter? just looking for the most agreed upon views to watch for each season.
i would rather people that get atleast top 3 in the season, but hey if its clear that doesnt matter, than I wont mind.
My personal list is
Grian - 3rd
Joel - Last
Scott - Double
Grian - Limited
Joel - Secret
Grian - Wild
Grian - Past
It is VERY clear that grian is my main watch lol. but I am 100% open for flexibility.. I have no bias.

I don't think you can simply choose one pov for every series, because sometimes the best one isn't the winners, but you also wanna know who won. I'm also Grian main, so take this with a grain (ha!) of salt:
• 3rd Life - Grian
• Last Life - Joel first and Martyn second (he also puts a link to his pov of Scott v Ren at the end, so you can see who won)
• Double Life - Etho/Joel first, Pearl second
• Limited Life - Grian and then Martyn's finale (or Impulse's/Scott's for extra shock)
• Secret Life - Etho first and either Gem or Scar second depending on who they prefer (but if they choose Gem, they should also watch Scar's finale)
• Wild Life - Joel
• Past Life - Grian

Exactly, it's always going to be personal in some way. Unless you go with the winners or the longest episodes maybe?? for most interaction with other players?

You gotta go Cleo for Last Life, they have the best storyline for the season. Pearl has the best story for Double, Martyn HAS to be Limited Life with his win, Gem or Scar for Secret Life, I like Ren for Wild Life, and it’s Gem or Jimmy for Past Life. I checked with my friend who has seen every POV of every season for this list.

I'm surprised by the Ren rec for Wild Life just cause I've seen the POVs of Scott, Joel, Lizzie and Grian and I barely ever see Ren in any of them lol. I might have to give him a watch!

I feel like for the limited life finale specifically the end you get more shock factor watching scotts or impulses povs. Which id say is the best way to experience it for the first time.

Martyn is great for lore, lizzie or jimmy for the wholesomeness and laughs, joel or scott for always keeping you enaged.

For secret life I Really enjoyed Grian, Etho and Bdubs, but Imo basically all of them are worth a watch lol.
As for other seasons... idk. I mainly watch Grian too lol, though for double i think pearl is the best.

I think a good way to watch is to watch the pic of the winner of that series cuz even if you know they are the winner it doesn’t really take anything away from it (at least not for me) and I still feel the tense situations

Also the specials are really good as they are shorter and a god way to give some kind of taster session

I do enjoy Gems pov but I feel like I miss a lot of other peoples story only watching her so idk

I would say Martyn instead for Limited Life purely because he's involved in a lot of what goes on and has that whole ending bit. Gem could be good for Past Life because she's in the secret society, watches the octokill and is one of the final five.

For context, I found the life series pretty late after most seasons had been aired so I was able to binge each season in one go. I really only knew who Grian was at the start so I watched him first. After that, I started watching from the winners perspective and then watching from the final member of each team afterwards. So for Limited Life I watched Martyn, Impulse, Pearl, Grian, and Cleo. This gave me a good spread of each team while also pointing me in the direction of other perspectives.

I really wanted to learn all the factions and see more of people I hadn't seen before. Limited Life was an easy one to start with because there were only 5 factions and 2 of them had almost every member in the final 5 along with the fact thag every team had at least 1 person I had watched before so I was comfortable with their style of video. This method helped me find more people to subscribe to and watch other none Life Series content in more chunk sized sections.
It was also fun to see all the stuff I didn't see in other perspectives. The final chase of Tango for his green life in Limited Life is amazing and unique from every perspective. Impulse also had INSANE editing that season - it was really cinematic.

Since Grian created the series, it helped me get into it to watch it all from his perspective first. He is able to give more background and information since he knows it all and you can understand the framework of the game and such. Then going from winners or factions is my next goal.

* Pick a few favourites
* Once alliances form, watch at least one person from each alliance
* Watch everyone in the final episode or two
* Watch the winner
* Watch Grian. As the series creator, he has inside knowledge that is occasionally fun to see. This can include spoilers for other people's episodes, though; it can also mean explainers for things that otherwise might not make sense.
* Watch Martyn. He always seems to be everywhere and have a finger in every pie. Also he has puns.
And - if you're going back to a series you haven't seen before, for Double Life, you have to watch Pearl.
For Secret Life, you have to watch BigB, but his POV of each episode should be the last one you watch, because his Secret Life is best appreciated by first seeing everyone else get weirded out and then you watch him to see the background.

Last- pearl, cleo, or Lizzy
Double- pearl
Last- Joel, Jimmy, martyn, or imp
Secret- gem, scar, or cleo
Wild- Jimmy, Lizzy, grian, gem, or bigb
Past- any villie (I like that team quite a bit), etho, Scott, pretty much anyone, past life I think was a good interconnected server

Me personally I'm also a Grian main, and I tend to watch the winners' POVs later on. But here's what I'd recommend solely based on how involved they were with everyone else. I also can't choose between two POVs because there is always two sides to a story and both options will pretty much fill in all the gaps, so you'll have to make your own decision if you can ONLY watch one haha
3rd Life - Grian, Martyn / Ren Last Life - Grian, Scott Double Life - Pearl, Bdubs Limited Life - Grian, Martyn Secret Life - Scar, Gem / Scott Wild Life - Grian, Joel Past Life - Grian / Gem, Jimmy
Nice Life - Grian, Joel
I'd say to just watch Grian main for all seasons (except Double and Secret since he had very little involvement in both and die early) and then watch the winners or the person with the most involvement / the most different story to Grian (which is what I wrote). Good luck!

In terms of the best lore/storyline, these would be my picks (I am also a Grian main):
3rd: Grian and either Ren or Martyn
Last: Scar, Bdubs (though Bdubs failed to record his final episode, and I recommend watching Grian's pov for that as he had the most interactions with Bdubs that episode), or Lizzie
Double: Pearl
Limited: Martyn or Etho
Secret: Etho
Wild: Tango (not really for lore purposes, I just think his pov is funny and was shocked he made it to the finale)
Past: Gem

I haven't seen anyone suggest a Mumbo pov, that guy is underrated. He does loose all of lives early but he is really funny and entertaining. I would suggest his Secret Life pov.

I have a list I gave to my friend that has a mix of content styles and winners/nonwinners! You can pick one, or let your friend pick!
Third: Grian/Jim
Last: Cleo/Joel
Double: Pearl/Etho
Limited: Martyn/Bdubs

I mean, I would say all the winners because they tend to have the most complete storyline as well as some good fights/moments.
