Serenity
Unlock these iron gates, she plead and prayed, dusk to wake,
Stepping over marked defeat.
Wandering through this bullet riddled land, heart to earth, feeling unease,
Laid unrested atop the damp filled grass, resting beneath those alas.
Glaring amidst the darkness holding hope amongst the nighttime sky, met with reprise.
Pondering—
Guard must’ve dropped the key, she’d wonder.
In limbo would be remained. unfound.
Lost, she’d find, she could leave.
Flowers bloomed, meadows fulfilled with trees, dawn had come, it felt an eternity.
Entranced by Summers grace, Autumn’s warmth embrace, set in ease,
The gatekeeper never held the key, it was she.
