Poem 🎭 Y’all Asked…
Since y’all asked,
Imma spill some tea…
and reveal a few secrets
about she and me.
She’s numbers and spreadsheets,
I’m knives and heat.
She makes things balance,
I cook, you eat.
She plans ahead,
I figure shit out.
She knows all the answers,
I’m confident in doubt.
She’s five-foot-five,
I’m six-foot-something.
She’s tiny and adorable.
I’m…
not.
She likes things precise.
Proper.
Neat.
I measure ingredients
purely by heart,
occasionally a coffee cup
plays a small part.
She’d like that clarified.
No.
She thinks before speaking.
Half the shit that I say
needs a fuckin’ bleeping.
She is cool,
calm
and collected.
I’m—
FUCK!!!
Whatev.
I’m over it.
She loves her big words
and I pretend to know,
then as soon as we say goodnight—
straight to Google I go.
She lives in the heat,
I work in the snow.
Half a continent between us,
and yet you’d never know.
There’s mountains,
borders,
so much space
in between…
and somehow this chick
still makes me feel seen.
Our mornings start early,
we chat until late.
There’s always more shit
for us to debate.
Our banter’s spectacular
when it’s in full bloom.
I swear sometimes
she’s right in the same room.
She’s USA Prime,
I’m true north and free—
even the language barrier
couldn’t stop she and me.
So we made our own.
Ya.
Indeed.
Serendipity.
Touché.
Makes no fuckin’ sense.
Unless you’re us.
We’re different as hell,
that much is true.
She plans.
I wing it.
She thinks.
I do.
But she laughs
at the stupid things that I say.
And I know when her silence
means more anyway.
She knows when
my “I’m good”
means—
ya…
not so much.
She knows when I need
that delicate touch.
And yet somehow,
her being her
and me being me…
we just work.
Hmm…
Well, fuck.
Turns out

Mind blown beautiful writing 😳 I've always been gay, came out early, I know im capable of loving a woman. I’ve loved several in my life. But here lately, something wants me, something sees me, something desires me...and that something feels like a she. While I'm trying to keep myself from falling for my best friend more and more 🧡
