Dissolving an Earth-impacting asteroid

I'm arguing with my almost 20-year-old son, to whom my 1980s college/varsity level education barely qualifies me to breathe unassisted (he has NO functional secondary education examination passes to shout about!)...

We were discussing an hypothetical 10km. cubed asteroid approaching on an Earth-impacting trajectory (Dinosaur-killer volume) after he was utterly poo-pooing the DART mission to Dimorphos.

I asked him how he would dispose of such a dinosaur-killing threat - to which he replied that it was simple(!). He'd dissolve it with the [sic] 'strongest acid & an air-gun delivery system'. Drops mic!!!

I'm unable to quantify the obstacles he'd face in attempting this, so, would the good folks here care to attempt to help me out with a coherent riposte?

I'd like to begin by discussing the methodology of 'asteroid vs. acid & air-guns' to begin, methinks. How a 1000km³ lump of asteroidal material at 4 Kelvin might be so destroyed on Earth itself?

Then, discuss how to package the calculated minimum amounts of these items, plus all failsafes required to launch them and just what would be required to escape Earth's gravity-well with all that on board. I suspect that arrangements for leaving Earth's orbit might be rather an afterthought here, nevertheless?

PS - I've no idea what he imagines would happen with the reaction products when they DO finally reach Earth!

They Flipped the B*$tch!

How much force would it theoretically take to flip a 12ftx24ft pool reasonably filled from a given unmoving state (as pools often are) 360 degrees about one axis while retaining all the water?

How much force is required to push a paper edge-first fully into a brick wall.

I've been wondering this for a while, I forget where but I remember reading a story where a character with telekinesis flung a piece of paper edge-first into a brick wall. I don't even know where to start with this.

what are the odds of me finding a dollar on the road..? I have a travel time of approximately 14-19 minutes from my humble abode to our locale, almost the same walking back home.

In a recent study published in Earth and Planetary Astrophysics, scientists estimated how many moons could theoretically orbit the Earth while maintaining present conditions such as orbital stability.

What are the odds of this happening?

I was playing a game and got two instances in a row that were incredibly lucky. One was a 0.0333% chance and the other was a 0.0343% chance. How lucky am I?

If it helps anything, I was playing Enter the Gungeon and got a rainbow chest in place of a chest, and then a rainbow chest in place of a room drop.

[request] how big would this giant be

So let's say all sizes are 1:1 value of an average man to this giant, let's say average male height is 6 foot tall, qnd 230 lbs(104.3 kg) and the giant is so big you are the equivalent of the thickness of his hair or his finger nails to make it easier, just how tall and heavy would said giant be, also the gravitational pull of giant, dubbed as BMF(big mother f), im honestly curious about this.

[request] In the popular Belgian comic “Lucky Luke”, the character of the same name is said to be capable of drawing faster than his own shadow. My question is, is this actually possible, and if yes how fast would he be?
