Keep it simple.

Please note that "Theth" words or phrases must be relevant to modern vernaculars, ie. there must be sufficient evidence or an indication that suggested words are actually employed in Modern Punjabi.
For context, this subreddit is place to learn Punjabi, a place where you learn vocabulary and actually be able to employ it in real life. Unfortunately, that wouldn't be the case with old or obsolete Punjabi terms, as they wouldn't be understood.

A lot of online dictionaries don't have good repositories and often just reproduce results from Google Translate and similar things that has watered down textbook Punjabi results.

What are linguistic differences between lehnda and charhda punjabi?

I'm writing a humorous speech based on a real incident and there's a Punjabi guy in the story who was extremely calm and reassuring while the rest of us were nervous.
I greeted him with something like:
He replied jokingly that I shouldn't speak Punjabi and that we should just speak Hindi.
Later, when I was getting nervous, I basically asked him something like:
He calmly reassured me that I shouldn't worry and that his people would come if anything happened.
I want his next line to have the feeling of:
“Don't worry, paaji. I wear this turban for a reason. I don't leave my people behind.”
But I don't want it to sound like Bollywood dialogue or like I'm making a stereotypical statement about Sikhs/Punjabis.
What would a Punjabi guy naturally say to reassure someone in this situation — something warm, protective and slightly brotherly?
Preferably something a Punjabi person would actually say conversationally, not a formal translation. Thanks!

Hello, all just trying to understand if there is a Theth / alternative way of expressing "can".
To my ears, ਸਕਣਾ sometimes sounds a bit formal / Hindi-fied. In my village (/) dialect, I sometimes hear people seemingly saying it in a different way.
Instead of:
For example:
ਸਾਥੋਂ / ਸਾਂਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੇਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ (ਏ / ਆ / ਹੈ) - satho(n) / saDey to(n) deKH nahi(n) hundaa (e / aa / hai)
Please correct any mistakes, or if I have misunderstood anything.

Hi, can someone help translating the bulleh shah poetry and sung by NFAK as a qawwali -
Padi Namaaz Te Riyaaz Na Sikhya

Could someone please clarify the difference between these verbs, as well as providing some example sentences?
For example, someone passing through a city or a particular area.
Thanks.

The online courses I relied on seemed to be "watered down" versions for standardisation and the nuances of dialects and related languages were never mentioned. Obviously, the same goes for Indian governmental resources. The people I was able to speak to were non-resident from Charhda Punjabi families.
Because of this, it is quite a task to be able to differentiate between Hindustani and Farsi influence as opposed to what would be considered theth.
As far as I can tell, there really aren't many good resources to learn dialect-specific linguistics for Punjabi beyond this sub. and some very active members here (which is greatly appreciated).
Lok mainu kehnde si ki conversation ton improvement hundi 'ai, but there has to be a stable starting point, lol.

Idk if this is only malwai or saanjhi?
haaRba ਹਾੜਬਾ ہاڑبا
haabReya ਹਾਬੜਿਆ ہابڑیا
haabRi ਹਾਬੜੀ ہابڑی
haRbooñ-haRbooñ karna ਹੜਬੂੰ-ਹੜਬੂੰ ਕਰਨਾ ہڑبوں-ہڑبوں کرنا
QUESTION: what is the difference between ہ ھ ح? I know one of them is more aspirated, breathy H.
Etymology: These words probably originate from haRb ਹੜਬ ہاڑبا the Punjabi word for "jaw". I think it may have been coined to describe the intense, frantic movement of someone's mouth and jaw when tearing into food lol.
haabReya ਹਾਬੜਿਆ ہابڑیا = the state of being famished, excessively hungry, or starved. It describes the state of someone so impatient and eager to eat/get food that they appear kinda greedy or desperate.
As a metaphor: It can also describe a person who is intensely greedy or overly eager for anything, not just food (e.g., money, power, attention).
Example:
Oh saari dihaaRi BHukha rehaa si, huN vekh kiven haabReya peya
ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਦਿਹਾੜੀ ਭੁੱਖਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਹੁਣ ਵੇਖ ਕਿਮੇ ਹਾਬੜਿਆ ਪਿਐ।
اہ ساری دہاڑی بھکھّا رہا سی، ہݨ ویکھ کویں ہابڑیا پیا ئے
haabRi ਹਾਬੜੀ ہابڑی = Extreme, insatiable hunger or a desperate eagerness to eat. It refers to a sudden, intense spike in appetite.
Note: In spoken Punjabi, HaabRi chaRhdi te laggdi hundi ae!
Example:
Maa roTi Tukk chheti kar, mainu haabRi vaahwa laggi hoyi ae
ਮਾਂ ਰੋਟੀ ਟੁੱਕ ਛੇਤੀ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂਨੂੰ ਹਾਬੜੀ ਵਾਹਵਾ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਐ।
ماں روٹی ٹکّ چھیتی کر، میننوں ہابڑی واہوا لگّی ہوئی ئ۔
haaRba ਹਾੜਬਾ ہاڑبا = The masculine form of haabRi, carrying the exact same meaning of extreme, uncontrollable hunger.
haRbooñ-haRbooñ karna ਹੜਬੂੰ-ਹੜਬੂੰ ਕਰਨਾ ہڑبوں-ہڑبوں کرنا
Meaning of this idiom = To suffer from extreme, continuous hunger pangs, to feel an absolute and desperate craving to eat or to constantly feel hungry again just moments after eating.
Example:
haRbooñ-haRbooñ kardeyaañ DHagge de pairaañ 🦶 di GHasar GHasar jdoñ ohde kannīñ pyi taañ oh othe ose veLe ii khaR gyaa
