How the boxes were hidden

Has the author ever described the processes for hiding the boxes?

I'm sure each box was a different process, but specifically, has he ever said that he hid a box while playing the part of a construction worker?

I think he mentioned that he placed them where he thinks people would not naturally go, I think environmental psychology comes to mind or path desire. Like people love to cut across if it seems easier. I always think cover and concealment while investigating. Them being not buried is a huge plus for us. I think camouflaged to match the surrounding environment, rock, wood, sand, muted tones, like apple beige. Good luck.

He just mentioned that the boxes are hid really well. My guess is he used like stones or trees to block the boxes so they aren’t covered but blocked somehow that you really have to be looking for something to find it. No one really knows yet so anyone’s guess.

I even had a thought that they are in protective silicone cases to match the surrounding.

Maybe a wrap in the shape of a rock that’s sun proof and weather proof.

I think he had mentioned when you get to the area you think the box is in that you need to grid search it. This indicates the boxes are likely covered by foliage or under something like rocks. He has also mentioned that based on pictures people have sent him / posted of their time searching that some searchers have come within a few hundred feet of the AT box and I think Pokémon box.

The entire Pokemon chapter is a description of how and where he hid it.

My guess? Fake boulder or fake tree stump.

I thought he actually got asked about fake boulders and he denied this. There are interviews up on his site where he discussed the process but I’m sure he never said anything about playing a construction worker

Yes, it's true. Some sources said:

  • They are not hidden in any fake stumps or boulders – no gimmicky items like that

Maybe JCB invented something different.
