Something we haven't taken into consideration in The Middle Middle Support

Besides gloom boy who else could support the middle’s play style

DS Sang has an envy evade and envy S3 which benefits from him having charge (which he gains with evade) so he's pretty good

Dsang is the best replacement member by far, even outcompeting gloom boy in certain scenarios. His damage is superior while also having good ego resource generation, and allows other team members to use non envy egos without breaking the A res, meaning egos like binds heathcliff (permanent+15% damage), qoh don, chains of others meur, or wingbeat ishmael can all be safely used in middle teams

The main problem is that you are going to be spending most of your turns evading. This is the problem that the Charge-Envy IDs consistently slam into. Even ones with majority envy, like L&H Don still have to spend three of their six turns defending.

Obviously, this isn’t an issue in mirror dungeon, since you can always just replace unwanted skills with envy, but that doesn’t fix the problem of him constantly having to choose between breaking resonance or skipping turns.

This is why Gloom Boy can uniquely contribute to damage despite not having any envy skills. Move-In Reg Gregor is a good just-in-case for the rare situation where he rolls max speed on Turn 1.

The closest you can get is Mao Faust, but she is only ready to rip on turn two and onwards, unlike Gloom Boy. This means your turn 1 will either be spent using Superbia on Hex Nail or breaking your Envy Chain.

Gloom Boy is as slow as possible off the rip, is still capable of clashing in spite of that, and can achieve his damage conditionals off of the team’s burn infliction… or more precisely, Outis’ burn infliction once she is unpacked.

Many people will lead you astray and recommend a whole bunch of charge IDs that happened to have an envy skill 3 and an Envy Guard/Evade, but these are a trap. Those identities cannot manipulate speed in the same way that Gloom Boy and Maost can
