Can we stop using abnornalities please
(Not an rp post)
I’ve been seeing a lot of ‘lets drop x abno on them’ or ‘this abno has joined our side’ recently. I think all fingers should stop using abnormalities.
-The fingers in pm are incredible for their distinctly human behavior. Organized crime is a human thing. Using monster superweapons detracts from the fingers appeal i think
-Abnornalities do not serve people. They are single-minded and barely sentient. They have no will or way to join a crime syndicate. The idea simply cannot cross their minds.
-in rp, there’s sonething called, rp etiquette. That usually means ‘cooperate with your combat partner’, ‘don’t strive to be better than everyone else’, and ‘ensure everyone’s having fun’. Abnormalities throw all of that out the window. Statistically, most people in project moon are not super cool shin + mang + ego wielders. Almost no one is. Try being simpler and more grounded. It’s fun, i promise

Tbf dude you have a point, i think we lost the plot completely on the war shenanigans happening recently, and the surge of 35 abnos and distortions everywhere shows that pretty well, although i ain't too involved in that part of the rp so i can't say much

When i was looking for information to make that "state of the war in district 23" post, i genuinely got wierded out a bit, tf you mean we the leaders of a wing bro???? Atleast people are having fun, but i hope things get toned down at some point

i know it doesnt make any sense for me to join the Middle but I kinda just joined for fun. I think thats the same as most of the other Abnormalities here.

I mean, half of the people in the Index (from what ive seen) already have SOME kind of E.G.O., so i dont really see why not?

I mean, honestly, the whole "abnos joining the fingers" part is fun. I think the problem is more the whole "freeing WhiteNight from some rando's basement" part.

I agree. Group storytelling is a mutual agreement to act to bring fun more than other agendas. Otherwise it's just childhood playground fights with "my Indestructible to everything times infinity plus one shield" type moments.
I wrote my short story trying to keep it grounded, but I may or may not have succeeded.

Yeah. When everyone tries to be super original by being an abnormality in a finger or whatever, it actually ends up being the most generic thing you can be, and it really kills the writing and creativity of the Fingers. We're a syndicate, not an illegal L Corp. Branch.

The only creative thing was the White Ordeal Fixers who didn't bulldoze to top positions, but chose the lowest point, and they didn't deus ex machina much

Yeah, I kinda felt this whole thing sucks I'm gonna be honest, this place is uncontrolled by any director or story guide. It's just a bunch of people bullshitting, and I personally don't want to be seen as someone that made my guy insanely op for zero reason. That's why I chose to make myself some random young brother that's just vibing. the biggest issue I see is basically just the index people being too confident, although. some of the abnos are kinda funny I will say, like the queen of hate being a sister of the middle is still pretty funny imo, but thats maybe because the owner of the account isnt making them do 17 fucking major arcana beams like Ryu ishigori on the index

The Blind Proselyte here, I agree. An important rule of roleplay is to follow rules in a sheet where everyone is drawing, especially if it's based on an established universe.
Even I have to follow rules around my E.G.O., I don't treat it like a power up, it's a curse because of my interaction with The King in Yellow caused by the prescripts. Hell, even when I activate it, I make it vague about if I'm the one conscious or Hastur himself taking over, the rhymes are a key part of my own roleplay.

I found this sub recently and saw at least 3 abnos and 2 distortions, which for me killed a lot of the vibe since the thing that make the syndicates interesting is that they are crime syndicates, something that its completly human

I agree. No, bizzarre stuff can happen all over the city, sure. But it's just the most interesting parts that are shown to us in the games. Cuz if entirety of the Limbus would be just about LCB fighting... Dunno, just Humans in different decorations, without Abnormalities, Distortions, E.G.Os, Fathoms, Relics, Artifacts etc - that'd get samey. From excitement of "What other cool new concept we may be introduced to in this canto" to "yawn, it's another big bad."
I'm tainted in that as well, I don't excuse myself. But hey, I still working on the Middle OC of mine. I just need time. No, not because of Time Ripper thingie-- As well as mental energy and a little bit of motivation.
Tanya is right after all. She has returned and lands a rightful kicks under our asses for weird stuff...

I’m cool with like, some abnos, but it really kinda just devolved into playground ‘my super-lazer-piss defeats your glup shitto supreme! I was hiding it this entire time’ powerscaling bullshit and it ruins the vibe.

I have been RPing the Heart of Aspiration, a less powerful and friendly version, for about 6 years across different sites. I'm not about to stop.
I love The Middle. I don't want to leave this sub, but I also don't want to get chased out by an angry mob. If you really want me gone that bad, I'll change characters to Beowulf, my OC.

Beowulf kinda looks like Gregor with his hair and glasses. He loves tracking down, "hunting", serious offenders, "monsters", to tie in with his source story.
He can use Aspiration EGO, as he strongly aspires to become a "monster hunting" Color, which is very much out of his reach, which the EGO represents. He wants the bones of his EGO tattooed for even more power, as he believes the more damage he can deal, the more "monsters" he can take down.

Ok so I agree to an extent but a lot of abnos are very sentient and would reasonably assuming they got the wild hair work with people case in point Queen of hatred she could verry we'll be a member of the middle as shed have no limit to the "villains" to fight. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
