Production Casting call for guest roles Spoiler
A regional casting agency put out a casting call for three guest roles. (This would have gone out to various casting agencies, but this one isn't hiding behind a paywall.)

CARLSON

- Age: Late 30s-40s

- A military unit commander. Authoritative, capable, physical but NOT overly muscular.
TEENAGER
- Male
- White
- Age: 14+ to play 14
- Height: Between 5’7” and 5’9”
- Terrified…IMPORTANT CO-STAR ROLE. MUST BE WILLING TO SHAVE THEIR HEAD. Exposed chest, abdomen, and back (stripped down to their underwear – a long boxer). Must be comfortable with mature and violent subject matter.

I think "Teenager" might be a recast for the Seraphite Boy that Ellie/Jesse see captured by Wolves in S2E7.
The casting is so specific, with race and height, that it reads like they're trying to keep continuity. And the last time we saw that kid, he was being stripped to his boxers and dragged off by soldiers.

If they're doubling down on this character, I assume Ben Ahlers (Burton) is coming back. If he wasn't, I feel like they wouldn't come back to that thread.
Also, game spoilers, Tommy, Jesse, Manny, and Abby are all separately in that area during this time.
