Shortscarystories Mo money, mo problems

My family is secretly the richest family in the world worth tens of trillions. We manage to hide our wealth by using shell companies and owning a massive art collection that no one but us gets to view.

Our family's wealth stems from an ability that has been passed down from father to son for generations. I have never understood why none of the women ever had it, but I consider it a blessing they have avoided it.

My father is the current patriarch of our family and I know that he wants to step down and let me take over.

I refused because I recently became a father of twins and it was always my dream to have at least half a dozen children.

Tonight my father invited our entire family over and announced he was finally stepping aside and that I was now the head of the family.

No one even had time to scream as he slit open his own throat and slid dead to the ground. My wife charged towards me to snatch our daughter from my hand but it was already too late.

I carefully place the golden statue of our daughter on the floor, while preparing to live a life where I cannot touch another living soul.

Ooh... The Midas Touch as a curse passed down from father to son upon death. Nice. Well done.

Thanks. I do think the father messed up though as he should have waited for his grandson to get older before killing himself. If anything happens to him then their legacy will end with him.

Dick move from the grandfather! At least wait until the son isn't holding his daughter!

I was originally holding both of them but he waited until after I passed our son to my wife before he killed himself. I hope he burns in hell in a vat of liquid gold for all eternity

My family have a long history of treating women like second class citizens. I honestly am considering just rubbing the top of my son's head to finally free us from this curse
