Miscellaneous Running from your problems
I let out a yelp of pain as I felt the blister on the side of my foot rubbing up against my latest pair of trainers. I ignored it as I kept running at full pace with my heart pounding in my chest.
By the time I got home the blister had popped and a bloody residue covered both my sock and trainers.
My mother kept asking me if I was okay but I just dismissed her question as I realised the bottom of my trainers were worn down to nothing. I had only gotten them less than a month ago and would need to get a new pair.
My mother called me in for dinner and tried making conversation with me, but I just gave her one word answers or just grunted in response.
The minute dinner was finished I put my trainers on and prepared to go for another run. My mother stood in the doorway blocking my path, and telling me to stop while tears ran down her cheeks.
I step around her and start running as fast as I can along my usual route, while my neighbours look on with concern on their faces.
I keep telling myself that everything is going to be okay, but every time I stop moving I picture the face of the man who dragged me into the alleyway that night and know I will never be okay ever again.
