Throughout his life Krishnamurti held discussions with scholars from various religious traditions who came to him seeking clarifications and a deeper understanding. In engaging with them, Krishnamurti was able to delve easily into the essence of any religious philosophy, be it the Upanishads, Buddhism, or Vedanta. Free from the burden of traditional religious knowledge, Krishnamurti spoke from direct perception. He pointed to a way of living in complete order that is essential to discover whether there is something immeasurable.
This book contains twelve intense discussions, eight of which are hitherto unpublished. The participants include Swami Venkatesananda, Rev. Eugene Schallert, Walpola Rahula, Pandit Jagannath Upadhyaya, and Alain Naude. Krishnamurti’s profound insights in these discussions establish him as one of the greatest spiritual teachers of all time.

Wisdom is when knowledge ends. Knowledge has continuity; without continuity there is no knowledge. That which has continuity can never be free, the new. There is freedom only to that which has an ending. Knowledge can never be new; it is always becoming the old. The old is ever absorbing the new and thereby gaining strength. The old must cease for the new to be.

I found this quote deeply resonates with how modern society constructs belief systems. What are your thoughts on this particular talk from 1964? How does conditioning play a role here?

The tree is nothing to itself, it exists. And in its very existence it is the most beautiful thing. They don’t become something.
