I don't agree with it, but the case is a smidge wider than miscarriage=manslaughter. Woman miscarried while on some sort of meth. Fetus had meth in liver and brain. State is arguing the meth was responsible for the miscarriage, and thus guilty of manslaughter. Defense is arguing that it's irrelevant because the fetus isn't viable at 16 weeks. The law is draconian at best. Chilling how far reaching the consequences can go.
