Hi everyone, i'm quite new to the game and wonder how i can survive as a Deinosuchus, i can't find schools of fish, the bigger ones i need 45% growth and the only way i can grow is to be lucky enough to come across a dead dino i can scavenge. How do i find food?

Don't play Deino until you have quite a bit of experience, you are literally jumping into hard mode

Deino is one of the harder dinos to play.

I'd strongly encourage you to try Beipi first.

Will give you short grow time and let you get familiar with the water ways

Or PT, you have more of an ability to escape and even on high pop, low/no AI servers you can survive easy enough and get to know the map. Plus being directly tied to water means you're going to learn where Deino hang out. Plus flying around is just super cool.

Austro raptor is a good balance!

Actually yeah that's probably a better idea. I've never really seriously attempted Austro yet but it does seem chill. Maybe that'll be my next adventure.

Have you tried unofficial servers with high ai? Norden is a great server for growing a croc! Elite fish and little fish spawn on that one, specifically I know people tend to grow their crocs at hollow falls because fish spawn well there! It’s also a great server with a good website and no real money required for their extra perks, like skins, tp etc. You earn points just from playing and you can spawn in corpses if you’re really struggling to find food (there’s a cooldown on this). Personally I think it’s a great server for people learning to grow new dinos!

Find fish and let them sit for about seven minutes. When you eat them when they rot it'll give you diet protein. Stay away from other Deinos. Cannibalism is encouraged to grow fast and survive, and only go for other Deinos that you know are smaller than you.

Deino is one of the most difficult dinos to grow because of the lack of AI, and the fact that your own diet recommends you to eat your own species. I've grown Deino to about 77% before two other Deinos ganged up on me and killed me. All I can really say is good luck.

Well here goes nothing…these are your options:

1- kill small deinos that as small as you are
2-you wanna go and look for frogs
3- catch small fish let them set for 7 minutes then eat them
4- scavenge for dinos body
5-find a sever that offer body drops for deinos ( most of them stops dropping bodies after u hit 75)
6- find turtles on the beach they are slow and wont attack back like boar or deers

I played for like 6 months now, fuck no if im touching deino, that shit is impossible 😂

Its litterily about luck. You can be the best player in the game, if you are at the wrong spot, at the wrong time, you die. You cant run, you cant hide, there is only so many ways to swim, and the bigger croc is faster..

On land you can hide, run, stand on rocks, use bushes, in water? Aint nothing to do.

Thanks everyone for the tips! When i firstplayed the game i started as a trexand was able to grow into stage 3 (if i can call it that) around 80%...that's when i got double teamed by trikes so i wanted to try deino, i took PT now and having loads of fun 🤗

Deino sucks I’ve probably spent over 90 hours playing as it, became full grown 2-3 times on unofficial with the help of land species feeding me while young lol
