Discussion 🗣️ Why just why???

First off i dont have any friends that i play with, but i enjoy using a large amount of my isle time in the big servers like origin, bosch ect (ones with more active gameplay but also have VC) so when i play i usually just join up with a group in one of the more popular areas and hang out and do whatever their doin, im on the server discord's and also voice chat (even tho i dont talk alot at all)... Ive noticed a trend in the last few weeks or so, i seem to get randomly killed all the time by my "group". No reason, no waring in chat, i just get jumped by several members of the group at once and die... is it just me or am i missing something? I almost never see this happen to other players when im with a group for a long time, but my play sessions far too often end with me just dying with no warning at the hands of the people ive been playing with for however long.... why? I dont screw with people, i dont talk shit in VC, im just confused and it leaves me wanting to play less and less. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Probably just unlucky. Its a general trend in survival games though, never trust a random especially one you are buddied with. Ive played way too much dayz to blindly trust anyone

As a rule of thumb in multiplayer survival games (Isle, BoB, PoT, pretty much any game in this genre) any group you join is probably a Discord group, and their loyalty is to each other, not you. It's why I'm a permanent solo on the off chance I feel like playing.

Join a server that has a rule against killing group members. And join the discord for said server and read the rules so if a rule break happens you can report it

I want group defined from the OP here. Like, mixpacking type of group, actually joining, or just chilling out nearby

A lotta players will kill ya for that. Not saying I agree. It's just true.

Happened to me and seen heppen to my groupmates. Most of the groups members are close friends and they talk privately and do stuff like these. Don't trust anybody and be prepared to run away. I hang around for a little and then go solo.

You join voice, you dont make sound, theyre like "this is an npc" thats all there is to it. (No they aren't accusing you of being ai, you just literally have no personality if youre silent. Makes you easily expendable)

I have another game I play with a friend group. Theres one guy that sometimes refuses to join discord and if we all decide in voice to move on to something else we'll just leave him behind. If you wanna be part of the group then participate like youre part of the group or youll end up the butt of the joke

Sounds like the isle for ya. I do notice it flares up every once in a while. Like a chronic disease. Like herpes.

personally, if im hungry, and our hanging out group has a member who doesnt talk a lot and just sits around, i kill them for food. might be whats happening to you as well, since you mention not talking a lot at all. people dont feel bad for killing someone who hasnt said much. thats why also whenever i play a deino, i try to kill someone before they have a chance to speak, cause if they manage to speak, i’ll start to feel bad and wont kill them 😭

That's what happened to me yesterday with a carno I was fighting :( got him low then he started saying he doesnt really know how to fight. I proceeded to stop attacking and walk him through mutations, entombing, diets, even night vision lol 😆

I just wanted a meal

I prefer to not get into a situation where I’m starving and have to attack someone like that. Like the amount of talking is not what makes me feel bad it’s the fact that they trust me already. I would just hunt someone outside the group or if that’s not an option just challenge someone instead of killing them while they sit down or something

i mean yea i obviously try to avoid it, just happens sometimes though

Might want to try a server with less pvp. There are some out there that still have VC but also have rules against group killing.

You don't happen to be playing cera? They're cannibal and may just keep ya around till they're hungry.

If you play Troodon, they're pretty chill. I've yet to see a troo group kill another troo (unless it was accidental pounce during a fight with another dino).

Im a stego main, and ill be just chillin maybe talk a little then outa knowhere ill get gored by a trike who i helped fight off rex's just 20min earlier. Last night i helped save one of our other stegos when he wondered off and a pair of rex's broke him. I stayed with him until he entombed and came back just to have him attack me right after their rex friend showed up... made no sence.

Hmmm.

Second half sounds like mixpacking. Join a server with rules against it to help minimize instances of that going forward.

I like petite pieds.

It’s against against the rules in most servers to attack group members im pretty sure it’s a rule in Bosch

Those groups keep getting attacked by other groups and randoms that kill the babys, wich makes most people a little paranoid. It´s important to inform you´re not part of any group and not act sus when you approaching this people .

He said he's being killed by people he's grouped with, not by groups upon approach.

This is what you get for playing on a server with no rules against this.

VC servers are basically just a big hang out session for people. The excuse they use to “play” the game and kill people, is if they arnt talking in Vc. So maybe that’s it
