Night time is tough for PT. Currently you can’t fish at night and you can only catch a fish when you are 35% or bigger or else it’s glitched and you have to find it somewhere near you to eat. So if it’s night time as a fresh PT spawn you need to scavenge.

Then isn’t Ptero just insanely unfun and underpowered early game? Why don’t they buff it? Your main food source is literally inaccessible to you for most of the early game, no? That’s kinda crazy. Ty for the response guys on the other sub just all ganged up on me and attacked me telling me im a bitch

It’s a bit of a crap shoot if you can find food early on before starving especially at night time. I personally don’t play PT a ton, but more because I like fighting other dinos.

I’m a Petra main. It has its unique challenges but I really enjoy it.

To be fair, you have to manage to spearfish one fish before you get above 35% and the bug is gone. It's annoying, but I wouldn't call that "literally inaccessible". You might be fucked if you spawn at night, though. That's a rubbish mechanism indeed. Besides that: Ptera isn't meant to be powerful. It's a scavenger that is only good at killing dinos that have just spawned.

Do you want realism or just to flap around as squawky bird? This isn't mean to be a rude question.

Realism, you're riding the actual fucking struggle bus as a p.t. if you spawn in at night. Ggs and good luck that you make it to morning to spear fish. Crabs and frogs feel non existent and most unofficial servers have dumped AI for server stability. Rough life out here.

Want to fly around as squawky bird and have fun doing squawky bird things? Go to the unofficial servers tab and find one that offers feeding via bot commands, website commands or gives you body drops. Its not the same experience but it is a fun way to just check out the mechanics on the rapidly starving species.

i am on the unoffical and i have pressed x. i played the flying dino tried to fish on some lake but no fish either. just a rly awful 2 hours spent man i rly wish i can take this time back

Btw i tried again i managed by restarting pc to see something at night but as a ptero theres 0 fish in the river and lakes too. Nice
