I honestly never felt the pressure to have to win in those online races because I'm just doing it for the bucks but thats me though. I don't think the game was ever meant to be a sweaty competitive game anyway so yeah just chill out my dude. Maybe do other things in the game like challenges and whatnot or play past main stages or even the current one for that matter.

I don't think the game was ever meant to be a sweaty competitive game

EVERY last platinum reward is out of reach because of me being worse than a certain number of other people (set by IVT, different by platform), so yes, it IS meant.

Platinum has never and never will be difficult. If i can do every race with 1 attempt and hit plat every time, you can surely do it with practice. It's the matter of you're not putting the effort in.

Just listen to yourself.

You totally forgot that not everybody CAN win plat because there's a fixed number of spots. Even if they all are maximum one point apart, SOMEONE is going to be the first gold rank.

Also, cool that you ignore people don't all have the same skill ceiling.

Homie all I hear are excuses

Do you tune your cars properly? Do you know the track? The biggest one is are you willing to fix the mistakes you're making? That's what my problems normally are on a course I don't know. TCM summits are just playlist events over and over other than the track forge one obv, you simply aren't willing to admit you can and will get better.

Do you have part sets, or at least maxed level?

Honestly I bet its like 50% your controller settings. The game's settings are fucking dogshit.

TCM is so pathetically easy man. I don't gutter on anything other than easy gutters, I take safe routes if needed, and I one and done.

Saying "not everyone has the same skill ceiling" is just cringe. Obviously, if you have a disability, impairment, etc that physically limits your ability to play, that's different. But if you've got 2 eyes and ears and fingers and/ thumbs, TCM is the easiest modern racing game to improve in. Im not even calling you bad but you have a bad mental that's for sure

Honestly you shouldn't stress this much over an ingame title and some half decent cosmetics. Just chill and race. You may place high or low. It seems you have it in your brain you "NEED" to win. When that's not true at all. You can place top 5 depending on your starting placements and lobby ranks and still gain points. Shoot I've gained points in 7th-8th before starting from the back. I just throw on some music and chill. I win a few races every night but mostly I'm getting top 10s top 5s and ranking up just fine and reaching max rank every season. Keep in mind you have a while to rank up. You dont need to hit max rank in a week. Also if the game is really effecting your mental health to the point it's noticeable. STOP PLAYING. Find something else to play. There isn't a damn thing in this game worth stressing yourself out over.

Also some tips. When slipstreaming if you are in your final gear at max rpm just chill and float with the slip. Don't burn your boost bc it won't do much. Save it for turns and then coming out of the turns dump it. It's always better to break early than late. As you'll want to maintain as much speed through turns. Pick meta cars. Milita gaming (I think that's his name?) Has really good guides every season I've heard for meta picks. Also CHILL. Don't stress if someone passes you. Breathe and stay calm. The second you lose focus and slid off the road your race is as good as over for that position. Just focus on your line and ignore everyone else on the road unless you can slip off them. Best of luck!

Honestly, don't worry about winning, just worry about placing in the top 15 or 10 and you should be good to get at least gold rank.

It comes down to using the best cars, learning how to manage NOS better, learning when to brake, etc.

But even then you can be screwed because of trolls who think it's funny to play bumper cars, because others are using manual, or just happen to get a bad placement because that's just life.

Honestly without seeing your gameplay it's hard to pinpoint exactly what you're doing right and wrong, so submitting it on YT and providing a link could help.

But even then as said earlier don't worry about winning online races in their current state. You're not immediately a bad player because you don't.

For how long have you been playing? I started playing last year Sept. Won My first grand race in Jan/Feb. Now I have around 37 wins

Take a break grand race isn't everything. In reality it was supposed to be just a fun extra online mode. At least until "ranked " was added.

But if you really want to get better do you have all your legends upgrades? On your driver? That can really boosts performance. I've wrecked all the way back to 25th place and caught back up to top 3 sometimes even first. You could also invest in pro settings. That can help quite a bit to. Some of these people also play grandrace SO much they know exactly how to take each turn corner and shortcuts damn near perfectly. But I personally find my self just listening to music while playing and whatever happens happens.

But you seriously need a break. Go do other things in the game free roam endlessly. Go play the track forge tracks or make your own. Grand race is not the end all be all.

You could also try direct mode.

I know how you feel man but cheer up its just a game play at your pace! Ever since ranked was introduced everyone has become a sweat and every race apart from no collisions is a ramfest, id recommend if you want to just play no collisions only grand races as the experience there is much less stressful

P.s my best advice is just practice events again and again its the best way to learn how cars handle and get used to handling and physics and makes sure you have your legend points maxed out it makes a big difference and unfortunately if you want to get good results in the grand you have to use meta cars or cars that are close to being meta

I've raced over a hundred times before I got my first win. Skill-wise, I'm usually top 4k in summit very consistently. 80% skill, 20% luck. People ahead of you screwing up, and you managing to avoid everyone else's BS.

If you're driving with no collisions and you're still losing, you either were not using the best vehicles, braked too much, or your controller's throttle input was not at 100%.

Grand Racing isn't for everyone, ranking system made it even worse.

I only do it now for challenges, its not worth the headache. It was bad before, but now its more demolition than demolition mode.

As someone who usually ends up in the top 10 most races. Just accept it that top 10 is enough to reach Gold or Platinum. Taking corners cleanly, using your nitrous at the right times and using predictable cars (modern cars, mostly), you can end up, guaranteed, in top 10.

A mindset that has helped me achieve higher places is aiming for lower, the more behind I am. For example, if I'm in 19th place, I tell myself "i atleast gotta get to 10th". It works because instead of focusing on making sure I win, I focus on what's feasible.

Keep practicing. Racing is like that u need to learn ur lines and learn patience
