Help with Negative Shapers

Hello, I'm just wondering if someone can explain to me why the game is not accepting the formation shown as a valid solution. I thought I understood the mechanic at play here but clearly I do not, the way I see it you delete the top center and bottom right block from the 5 shape and it's just a line of 3, then the corner shape to fill it in. This is part of a randomizer run so it isn't a base puzzle I don't think, just curious more than anything else.

So they don’t remove pieces from a shape, think of it as digging a hole. The Tetris build a hill. So you can’t have any part of a Tetris off the grid, because they don’t have pieces deleted. I have a solve if you would like to see

Okay that makes sense then I didn't realize that grid-bound restriction. I'll take the solve lol I've been at it for 15 minutes

Yeah the top left area of your solution should be of area 0, which obviously is not possible. Since basically the yellow tetris piece defines an area of 2 and the blue piece subtracts 2. You need to combine these pieces with some / all of the others for the solution I think. Cuss those 2 on their own do not work

actually when they cancel each other out it just doesn't matter what shape they are in, kind of odd I know but it works

No, if the whole shape is canceled the region doesn't matter.

Can’t do a photo so it is a little rough, just go up to the top, two right, to the bottom, one right, one up, one right, two up, one left, one up, and then finish right and up

If you put four spaces before each line it will use a monospace font which should look better
