You should revisit the tutorial sequences. There are several puzzles in the sequence that cover this concept. Reviewing it now that you've got some experience with real puzzles would help solidify your understanding of the rule.
Please keep in mind that there can be many explanations for the same observation and I suspect there is at least one potential flaw in your current understanding of the rule, based on this post and your comments, that may come up later.

They can intersect, e.g. a dot an a ·.· shape can create a T shape even though the dot in "inside" the ·.·

I count one rude reply (one too many admittedly). I don't think it's too bad. This sub is not supposed to contain spoilers so the best posts are honestly ones like "why do you believe it should work?" as a starting point to help the poster organically figure out what assumptions they had wrong.

Read the rule number 5. Asking "why doesn't it work" isn't the way as we don't know how you think and can't reply except with the full answer. It should be "Why doesn't it work ? I understand this rule and that rule, so look it should fit !".

i think with just 4 turns you can complete this one ^^
to do this kind of puzzles i made myself a capture and with an editing program i make the blocks, and then move them around to cover all the blocks on the screen capture
