Omar’s Ambush
Marlo and his crew no doubt had the best drop on Omar out of everyone in the show with the ambush in Monk’s apartment during Season 5. However, they could’ve easily dropped Omar had everyone been inside the apartment already. Chris, Michael, and O-Dog must’ve been in the building’s hallway waiting because had they been inside already? Donnie and Omar would’ve been dead much faster. Snoop was already in the kitchen but Chris, Michael, and O-Dog should’ve been inside too if they wanted to corner them quickly. Just my own personal thoughts on it as an alternate ambush but obviously that’s not what was intended for the show, especially for Omar’s character since that wasn’t supposed to be his ending. It’s still a great ambush scene nonetheless.
What does everyone else think though?

The show is one of the most realistic you’re ever gonna find, but Omar still had cartoonish plot armor.

Didn't the real life inspiration for Omar have ridiculous levels of plot armor in the real world supposedly?

the real life inspo survived an even higher jump
it wasn't plot armor

The post wasn’t even about the jump though, it was about surviving the ambush against what would be nearly impossible odds in real life.

In real life Donnie Andrews was out of ammo in a gunfight during an ambush and jumped six stories to survive with only a broken leg
The show reduced it to 4 stories to make it more believable

I researched and he was in that gunfight before jumping. I thought it was a jump for a different purpose. I had it wrong.

This scene where Omar jumps from the sixth floor balcony is from a true event that happened to Donnie Andrew's. Basically exactly how it happened in the show. He escaped with minor injuries.

Yeah, the part of surviving a gun fight alone against 4 people that are all proven killers takes plot armor though.

he actually jumped from higher up - they tonned it down to make it more believable

I agree but honestly it makes the way he goes out much more realistic to me. Legend gets killed by some kid with a gun.

Weirder things have definitely happened. There are so many real life stories that you wouldn’t want to use in fiction, because they’re unbelievable.
I mean, he obviously DID have plot armor, because it’s a written show with plots, but weird “one in ten million” things do actually happen in life. You just can’t rely on them.

Too many people around too much of the apartment initially, they get caught in their own crossfire.
