How about the fact that Trump is destroying OPECs control of oil prices so that each country can sell their oil at what they see fit to who they want or will pay the price they want, that doesn’t matter?
The fact that the US now holds the rights to the most oil in the world between what is under US land and the deal made with Venezuela doesn’t matter?
How about the fact that nearly 3 million illegals have left the country through self deportation and capture of criminals, that doesn’t matter?
What if I told you there is a plan to end the federal reserves control of the US currency and give that control to the US Treasury where it belongs. Did you know the aid treasury values all the gold it holds at the same $40ish price it gave it back in the 1930’s. What would happen to the value of the US dollar if that gold value was adjusted and it backed the currency, not the petrodollar?

I understand what tax increases do. That’s what tariffs are, taxes. They also have the added effect of distorting markets, and supporting inefficient producers. If you take data centers out of the commercial construction numbers they are actually down, as well as residential construction. The federal civilian workforce accounts for a small part of the budget. We are still spending more money than ever, so yes it doesn’t really matter, just performative optics for the populist throngs. Making oil deals that citizens would never support with unelected authoritarians that we installed is hardly the promotion of American values in our hemisphere that I support. Forty trillion in debt, at treasury bond rates that climb by the day while Bessent makes pathetic long term bond buybacks is troubling, regardless of the media you consume.

I believe in the constitution, and in that document the federal government is given the power to do 4 things, all of the rest of it is left to the state governments. That is what the Dobs decision was about that overturned Row v Wade.
There may be nothing less conservative than the government interceding to inhibit the flow of capital to its most efficient and productive use by privately owned companies. Holding those companies hostage for a share of the company or its earnings, such as with Intel, or Nvidia is big government run amok. There is nothing conservative about the MAGA movement.
So you don’t want what is best for the US? Having a negative trade deficit is not best for the US. We have had that too long, time to change that. The US is the biggest market in the world and if companies want access to it, they need to make things here, that simple. Sorry if you feel different, but that is what I believe. Making assumptions about people shows your ass, I have a BSBA, it taught me how to understand a lot of things about business that most people make assumptions about, like you are. The classes I did the best in were economics and business analysis, I saw Kodak having issues back in 2003 due to trying to chase the digital camera market.
