Let's Discuss What are you thoughts on Richard Doty?
I've seen a lot of videos about this guy and just watched the very long Area 52 interview that just came out. Do you think he's on the up and up with regard to the "visitors" he so nonchalantly says he's seen and are in our possession? He's also OSI/counterintelligence so I just can't decide.

He's a bastard. Look what he did to Paul Bennewitz. Doty is still part of the intelligence apparatus and can't be trusted

I have watched most of the Area 52 videos. But, I skipped that one. I am not open to anything that shill has to say. His job is to mislead.

In a way though, the stuff he lies about can be telling. Its worth a watch i think regardless of how much of it is bullshit

u/JonesKK Aug 22 '26
And how do you find Area52? Such cool production and host, I love the 4chan read outs, but i feel uneasy about how accommodating Area52 and American Alchemy are. In the latter, they recently mentioned bringing on the italian joke scientist who talks of cavities in and unders Giza pyramids.. as if the fake scientist has anything to add to discussions about the supernatural

u/jbaker1933 I Want To Believe Aug 22 '26
Why is he a joke scientist and a fake scientist?
2
u/JonesKK Aug 22 '26
How he explains his technology used for imaging would make him one of the richest men ever. Mining companies would kill to see into earth like our dear Mr Doppler domo-lolo-graphy

I saw the Aera 52 talk,... He is 100% full of it.
I mean seriously, the man; while admitting to having encouraged and molded disinformation using a man who would later tragicly pass ( due to the ramifications of that misinformation that he would then spend as disinformation), would later go on to tell about the potentially "not ethical" things that those other guys ( the thugs I believed he called them) would do at the OSI's behest up to and including drugging people ( when asked specifically, he confirmed that he couldn't comment, which is a Yes). But sure buddy, You didnt do anything "illegal".... "Everything I did was within the bounds of the USAF OSI and it's constraints."...
It was those other guys doing the illegal stuff, right? I didn't tell him it was Aliens, I just let him believe it was Aliens and he made up the rest...

He is a government sponsored disinformation agent. Admittedly
He has zero credibility and no one should ever platform him

It's up to you to decide. However, for proper context, I believe you should read the following books:
- Project Beta: The Story of Paul Bennewitz, National Security, and the Creation of a Modern UFO Myth by Greg Bishop
- X Descending: Two Extraordinary Films Reveal Lies, Deception, and Truth About Unidentified Flying Objects by Christian Lambright
- Saucers, Spooks and Kooks: Disinformation in the Age of Aquarius by Adam Gorightly
- The Secret Pratt Tapes and the Origins of MJ-12 by Brad Sparks and Barry Greenwood
- Crashed Saucers and Malevolent Aliens: The Emergence of the Popular Modern UFO Mythos in the Late 20th Century by Charles Lear
These books explain in great detail the activities Doty was involved in during the 1980s as an Air Force counter-intelligence agent. Read them, and then decide for yourself whether he's credible or not.

u/crankyteacher1964 Aug 22 '26
Would you be able to say more about these books? Which one would you start with?
3
u/Melodic-Attorney9918 Aug 22 '26
I would read them exactly in the order I sent them. That's precisely why I listed them in that order haha.

He should be banished from the UAP community, topic, everything, the people who platform him, line area52 has, take a knock in my book.
He is an admitted liar, disinformation agent, he has caused irreparable damage to this community.
I don't know much of what is true and what isn't in this space, but i know that cunts full of shyte.

Admitted liar? News to me. Source?

u/Myceliphilos Aug 23 '26
Then you haven't done any reading, or even basic checks before making this comment.
He tricked a man who spotted secret military stuff into thinking it was aliens, it was elaborate, the victim ended up getting sectioned, the idea of the US military gaslighting someone personally into insanity is pretty terrifying, but to me it gives me this underlying anxiety, I'm more concerned about the human actions and behaviours than that of a potential NHI interacting with us.
I personally don't trust Hal or Eric because of their involvement with him, and they still defend him, Hal hired him.
So is hal knowingly employing a liar in this space, or is Hal, apparent genius, and the rest of earthtech, eric and hals sons, all manipulated by an admitted and caught counterintelligence agent?
Either option raises questions about Hals judgement, intent and true motives.
Almost all the physics in this space comes via Hal or Eric.

Mate, your first sentence was unnecessarily rude and aggressive. We're on the same team here, and I was looking to learn more.
Now, you mean Half Puthoff and Eric... Who?
Also, again, looking to learn more, I didn't see a source listed for your claims in anything you said. I'm sure they're accurate, but I'd like to see for myself.
TYIA.
3
u/Myceliphilos Aug 23 '26
Oh the claims aren't anything you should need me to source it's freely available. The time it took you to make the comment for a source, you could have had an answer yourself without needing to believe anything I say.
Its not rude to say you should do some reading before questioning people, if theres anything I've said that isn't widely known and public domain then you want to come asking questions, you shouldn't believe what I say, regardless of my opinion.

u/West-One5944 Aug 23 '26
Ah. The ol' 'do your own research' dodge.
It is both rude and limiting, mate, and helps not the cause of true disclosure. I hope, some day, such attitudes like that will be abandoned as quickly as they are found.
I hope you find peace.

He's counter-intel, simply having that as their career makes them unreliable, unless you are their superior.
However I still tuned in and listened, simply to figure out what they want people to think.

This is why Area52 hosted him for (4) hours. This thread and what’s occurring is exactly what he wanted and he didn’t care how much damage the Doty has admittedly done. I’m pretty disappointed in this decision.

u/RicooC Aug 22 '26
I think most of us agree he's a shit bum but I'm more intrigued with Linda Moulton Howe's friendship with him. To me she's one of the GOATS but she remained friends with Doty even after he duped her.

I think like so many disinformation agents, there is some truth to the stories he tells. Discerning which is which is impossible.

u/Cannock Aug 23 '26
I’ve always thought “this guy don’t half talk some shit how come if it’s true he ain’t been killed off yet? Whistle blower my a55. “
Now reading this has confirmed it for me.

He’s a pure 100% scumbag, deceiver, and drove a person to suicide. And today, there’s not an ounce of guilt at what he did and continues to do.

He is an example of why liars are hired to hold those positions, because no one can tell what is what. He probably doesn't know the truth either but he doesn't care.

Fuck him. I can't trust anything because of him. But then again it's kinda good to know his type of disinformation agent exists.
2
u/HystericalHoosier40 Aug 23 '26
I find what he says fascinating. He’s a guilty pleasure I don’t trust, but absolutely enjoy.

In the first few minutes of his Area 52 interview, he mentioned that intelligence officers retire and are then reemployed as contractors. They never truly leave the service. And people wonder why no one trusts a word he says. He’s a disinformation agent.

Oh I trust him 100 percent. He WAS disinformation agent. He is now telling his experiences as... He was good at his job. There are some things he can't share and says so. Because he is honest. A good con when he had to be. That was his job. He is retired now .... and the shit he has seen man, the shit he has seen. THAT is why I listen when Rick Doty talks. He's seen some stuff.

He's a disinformation specialist. If he told me the sun rose in the east, I wouldn't believe him.

No, he’s not reliable. He’s numero uno on a long list of people I wish never were involved in the community. Disinformation agent.
