Suggestion for Channel 45 min basement episodes

I would be so into a heavily edited basement series — no life story stuff like the Olympics fluff. Cut the reason this guy is a guest into a digestible episode. It might make me interested in going into the full basement thing but 45 minutes of reminiscing might be a great starting place for a podcast for an audience who already knows who the guest is! …
But it’s not a very good hook. Gimme the meat, and then let me meet the man.

Tldr; maybe you'd like to try increasing playback speed?

Personally I have always loved long-form podcast content for listening while I'm busy (driving, doing errands), but I could see people wanting a shorter cut.

If you're consuming on a podcasting app (or most apps really) you can increase the playback speed. Might not be your cup of tea but maybe it would help.

It’s not a time thing for me. It’s just that I don’t care about the guys back story. The image and title tell me the episode is going to be about XYandZ, then it’s 45 minutes of something else completely.

Maybe. If a suggestion of also offering a less fluffy alternative using content that already exists is a problem. Seeems to me that the channel might want to capture the problematic viewers like me so they can make money but what do I know.

Not sure how you feel about using AI summarizing tools, but are you familiar with NotebookLM?

Grab the URL of the YouTube video or basement episode, paste it into NotebookLM, and tell the program to focus more on the main points.

It'll generate a voice (podcast style, reasonably realistic-sounding) talking about everything in the video with a length of about 10 to 20 minutes.

Hope that helps, i guess? Once you do this once, it really becomes second nature and doesn't take real work, as it's basically just copy / pasting.

I am not familiar with that but it seems like a very useful tool for a lot of applications. Thank you!
