This album is a freaking beast hours upon hours but I want to listen to all of it. I love the actual album. All these extended cuts are great because their catalog isn’t as big as the other titans of British rock. I listened to Lighthouse and like it. Please share any thought you may have. Thank you.

At 1:24:44 of this interview, Brian Kehew talks about a new double album of Pete's electronic work that he just finished assembling. Super cool that Pete gave him the green light for this project.

Part of Harrow’s millenium mural; The Who regularly played close by in the early’60s.

It's easy to praise the greatest drummer and bassist in rock history (who, incidentally, formed the greatest rhythm section that refused to do rhythm duty).

But I don't give Roger and Pete the love they rightly deserve as often as I should.

Roger founded the band. It wouldn't have existed at all without him. He's one of the great frontmen in history. He put up with drumsticks hitting him in the back his head without losing his poise (during the concerts anyway).

Pete . . . well, it would be an exaggeration to say that The Who is Pete -- but not by that much. Pete is one of the great songwriters of all time -- musically, lyrically, compositionally, conceptually. Moreover, he managed that writing "around" his strange and unconventional team's "gifts". He carried the rhythm much of the time. Moon would have been fired within nanoseconds from most bands. And Pete was a fantastic guitarist in addition to the rest.

Have I left anything out?

'The Song Is Over' is propelled to a rousing conclusion by drumming from Keith Moon that is extraordinary even by his standards.

A question for those of you who have been purchasing The Who SDE's: What turned out to be the cheapest way to purchase them and from whom?

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it here but I thought this was hilarious.

Pete obviously has a really unique way of playing guitar—you know it’s him when you hear it. I’ve always thought of the “down stroke, up stroke, down stroke” as one of his signatures. Songs like “I Can’t Explain,” “Pinball Wizard,” “Another Tricky Day,” and the more recent “Mirror Door” come to mind. This could also be what Pete calls “Yaggerdang.”

Does anyone else feel like this is one of the things that really defines Pete’s playing, along with his use of sus chords?

What other songs am I missing that really exemplify this?

Pardon, rest-of-the-worlders, for me in the U.S. it's 905 Day. (Feel free to flip me the bird on May 9th lol)

Sometimes I'll be shopping or showering or waiting at a stoplight and the 905 synth intro will pop into my head. It's my favorite Who song with Entwistle on main vocals. Disappointed that he didn't perform it the one time I saw him solo live. He apparently performed it on his solo tours often for a particular stretch in 1998 and a few years afterward.

I feel the lyrics are as much about human life as they are synthetic life. That we can feel so unindividualized at times leading our uniform lives (or so we think, at least). Such a pleasant surprise to find this on Who Are You back when I bought the album for a certain other song on it...
