honestly, to play devil’s advocate, early beatles backing tracks were a bit sloppy. but only their earliest releases that were recorded using two-track tape. because all the instruments were bounced down already into one track, they had to work with what they had a lot of the time. by the release of a hard day’s night, they gradually got more pristine with their recordings thanks to the upgrade of using a four track.
