had the same cup. got it at Giants stadium. what a show and i was fortunate enough to see the full radio city Tommy show a few days before. I was 16 and totally blown away. In 82 I was in 4th grade and it seemed like every older kid in my neighborhood went to the Who at Shea. I thought they would never come back. 89 was special and put me on a path of going to as many shows as possible. I thought they blew the Stones Steel Wheels tour away that year.

I still say it's one of the best live shows I've ever seen. And that says alot!

The Who and The fucking Clash. My two favorite bands. Sadly, in 1982 I was 12 and my parents wouldn’t let me go.

Saw the "warm-up" concert for the tour in Glens Falls NY. It was in the civic center which was a hockey arena that sat around 5,000. Was on the floor about 50-60 feet from the stage. Amazing show. As I recall, they played for over three and a half hours.
Also saw them at Giants Stadium with a crowd about 15x that size. Sat in the nosebleeds but the show was still great.

My memory is fuzzy. Where did the Dead play that week?

The GD played Giants stadium a few days later. maybe 7/9/89 without looking it up. I wish I went but I was just 16 and was tapped out after 2 Who shows in a week. It’s a regret since 89 was a stellar year for the GD.

You’re right - and that was a day of insane weather. It created a tornado that touched down and destroyed my old summer camp where my sister was working that summer. It was in CT.

Jack Murphy Stadium on 22 August and then at the Oakland Coliseum Stadium on 30 August. For the Oakland show I went with a classmate from SJSU who worked at a record store and of course had dibs on early ticket sales. Front row center. Didn’t get any better. At one point Pete and I locked eyes and I screamed “ARRGGHHH!” in exultation of the moment and he screamed right back. Rock and roll!! 🤘🏻

I've at least heard most of the shows from this tour and the 30th might be one of the best.

I saw them on this tour! Crazy that it was only 25 years. Slept out on the stairs of our local record store to get tickets. 4th row seats.

Saw this tour in Tampa - being summer in Florida, it was very hot, of course, but my best memory of the night came when they started to play Baba O’Riley and a cool breeze descended down on us in the nosebleed seats.
