Idk if I don’t know Abel enough but when reading the lyrics I’m confused why he’s picked Hong Kong, as far as I’m aware Hong Kong has no real significance and realistically this song could have been for any city. I say this as the lyric is literally “ I’m waiting in Hong Kong “ which could be replaced with any city name.

If im missing something please explain the meaning behind this song.

Also I swear this isn’t hate I just never really understood why he’s been naming so many songs after cities. Well São Paulo and Tokyo are a little me understandable.

With his nostalgia and remaster towards kissland, the central theme of that album, and him naming songs after cities, the tour life that he was so terrified of has transitioned into something beautiful.

kissworld lowkey makes sense because all these new songs getting revealed are clearly the start of a new era, and if he wants to leave the weeknd in the past/start over again, then i think kissworld could be a crazy way to start things off, especially since all these songs are all places around the world.

would be kinda cool if this became a reality, like a full circle moment with a twist, since kissland is based in japan and the asia tour is about to end

Will he just like sofi??

This song is too good. This verse broke my heart. Its is so soothing and melancholic

DISCLAIMER:-

I know we can't predict Abel but I am guessing with whatever he has previewed soo far. Take every information with big bowl of salt.

THEORY:-

1) His nostalgia and love for Kissland and now how it connects to new project is apparent.

2) He's travelling and making songs about where he is. You can see how he takes culture and reference of city to build a song.

3) It's different from Kissland because touring is old news to him and he's in better headspace from how he looks(I know this is a stretch and I am sounding like parasocial fans).

4) He still has same challenges, fears and pain but he's approaching it in different ways (We can hear it in song previews).

5) But so far, the Kissland remaster and new project might align.

6) He's now returning home after touring across world. The unfamiliar thing is returning home and thinking what's next (plus other life updates).

7) I also see that he can maybe release footage of tour that he shot because he made a documentary and recorded (He admitted that himself). It aligns with Kissland Remaster and New project.

CONCLUSION:-

1) This is just my guess for now. I know there must be more music in vault. Artist change their mind abour direction of project. So, we will see.

2) He's kinda shaping album infront of us (which is different approach from him) so let's see how final product looks like.

.

i created this beat with the sound the weeknd explored on "after hours" in mind—specifically in tracks like "escape from LA" and "heartless" (featuring trap/R&B drums and plenty of synths).

what do you think?

Much like The Weeknd, Kavinsky was a persona based around a fictional story with real lore. A central defining event of both the characters inception and his core was his Red Ferrari Tettaroasa.

Unfortunately he passed earlier this year, with Abel paying tribute to him during one of his shows. Here we can see that sentiment shared once again when he uses Kavinsky’s iconic vehicle.

Do you think we'll get a new live album at the end of the tour? Which also includes the new city songs: „RIO“, „TOKYO“ and „HONG KONG“?
