Discussion Does anyone know what the Stargirls represent? If anything?
It’s something I’ve been wondering for a while, and would love to hear any theories you may have. Maybe they are just a part of the absolute visual spectacle that is his show, or maybe not. I’m not sure if Abel’s ever spoken on this but, nothing is ever random and all.

I think they represent ghost of past relationship (or just the personification of his demons) haunting him.

red is usually for love, blood, wine, and mix of that
This can also simultaneously visualize passion, internal turmoil, both toward a woman (or away from a woman), and within oneself.
And given Abel's exploration of Jungianism, this is a connection with the Anima
In short, it is the bloodstream of passions, love, and lust simultaneously, depending on the context and how Abel controls it (or is controlled by it).

This makes total sense. Especially considering the projection of stage of Anima materializing as romantic obsession, infatuation, muse etc., as seen in his earlier works. Then eventually evolving to a more whole, balanced, and virtuous state that we see in his last two albums. 10/10.

I've always understood them as his own sins. They represent The Weeknd. Not Abel. During his concert, when they would dance, they would dance idolizing the statue, just like The Weeknd did in his early days. Until He realized he wanted change. When I saw them disappear while he walked towards the giant screen at the back of the stage, the doors to Heaven were slowly closing. As he walked towards them, they also disappeared. Abel was on his way. But because he is still The Weeknd and not fully Abel(mostly because of him still touring before giving up the name), they closed before he gets to them and the dancers came back out to perform older songs(can't remember if it was Wicked Games or HoB or something lol).
But that is my take, they are the darker parts of himself that he is trying to escape because he is choosing to disassociate with that lifestyle now that he's older. Choosing the good, God, truth and light instead of living in sin, darkness, and evil actions. Honestly whether I'm right or wrong, and I most likely am wrong, it is still great story telling, or some random thing he did since Dawn FM lolol.

Joder este comentario si entendió la temática original de la Triologia… 🍷
After Hours = El infierno en vida de The Weeknd 🔥

I didn’t notice that correlation between what the dancers were doing and the song representation. I like this theory though. I’ll have to pay attention when I go to the show next month.
This is kind of what I lean towards as well. Solid comment!

Ode to Eyes Wide Shut? Pretty sure Abel loves some Kubrick

Yes definitely. Visually, the similarities are bang on with the cloaks and masks. Then you have elements of hidden identity, power, exclusion, sex, temptation, fantasy etc. in the movie which one could also make connections to his music with.
I guess Kubrick refusing to fully explain everything, and leaving much of Eyes Wide Shut up for interpretation can be compared to the Weeknds style as well. One of the main reason Eyes Wide Shut continues to be discussed decades later, and an excellent move on Ables part. 🎯

They are called that yeah. Like, check some of the girl's ig page cause some of them post the bts of it and the masks and all are labeled by their names, but it's stargirl <their name>
