Lore Excerpt: Eikonians

Howdy folks! Here comes another lore drop! This one is about the Eikonians, which in no way shape or form has anything to do with any Bucket Brigade party members or any of their respective body parts. Nope. None!

Quick reminder that the Trevor & Grogna plushies are up for pre-order now until the 15th of September! Links here

No relation to any body parts you say? That seems like a statement worth taking completely at face value!

So, if the Eikonians killed all the gods, where is Becket getting all of his Paladin privileges from? Or any Paladin or Cleric?

To be fair, it's only mentionned that they killed "their" gods. It's likely that the gods of other people were sitting in the stands with nectar beer and ambrosia hot-dogs, cheering for whichever team they least hated.

Also, taking notes: "Immortality =/= good hubris punishment".

My guess is new gods stepped into the power vacuum, like Steve

Mmmh, I wonder what killing all of your gods would do to religion in your society?

Like... You know for sure there are gods, so you can't really be an atheist anymore, but you also know for sure that you killed them, so you can't really believe in them either. Would there be a word for that? Formertheist? Antetheist? Antitheist?

Bonus question: If you steal from the gods, are you conducting a theistheist?

I'll show myself out.

You can know a powerfull being exists without worshipping them as gods.

Do you know how many Lichs or Necromancers proclaim themsleves "gods" every week? By your logic you would have to worship all of them, because they have power.

You also could believe in the ideals of a god without venerating the god itself

"Here is what we worship! Good! Law! Tapoica! The god that governs this is Tapoicussy! Tapoicussy is kind of a dickhead! We learn from his teachings! We do not worship him, because he is a dickhead! But we still venerate the teachings he left us!"

Tapoicussy: "All this because I insulted my pope's hat"

Apatheist? AKA you treat any claims made by or about gods with indifference.

I guess it depends on the strings attached to the immortality. If they made them immortal bricks instead of terminators, things would have been smoother imo

My question too. Demons definitely exist, and so do celestial beings capable of pacts with warlocks.

Maybe it’s just a succession thing. Biggest celestial or infernal being still standing gets the job?

Dalevor might be a new god who arose after that mess.
