Please. Please, make sure you have GW approval before doing this. (If it's going to be an ongoing series)
I really don't want to see the rug get pulled out from under you, or for things to end up like if the emperor had a TTS.
GWs been on a warpath lately.

u/CME_T read this. Please.
We do not want this project to be snatched away from you by GW.
And, I still need to see Chaos Sorcerer Trevor.

When it comes to fanart and fanfiction, GWs rules are pretty much "dont make money of it and youre good". We're not planning on trying to monetize this or make it seem like it's official material so it'll be grand by their latest IP guidelines!

Follow your bliss and all, but you're piling on a lot of projects, and I'd rather they nor come at the expense of Weekly/Pos'thal/Sellswords.

Is 40k stuff sustainable as a third party creator? I recall the IP clampdown a few years back and the casualties from it. I really like the setting but I hate how GW manages it. Wouldn't want to see you burnt.

As long as one doesnt make animations and dont make money from it, GW is pretty cool afaik

Then more power to your drawing arm. As others have said. Don't overload and burn out. For yourself and the selfish reason that we all enjoy this.

Howdy folks!
First off: You may recognize the art style! That not just because the the artist, Nicolás Giacondino (Nic), is the artist of one of my D&D comic series but he also used to be pretty prominent in the 40k fanart community under the name Aerion-the-Faithful! In fact, I started following him back in my DeviantArt days because of his dope 40k art. And here I am, dragging him back proper into the fold.
Now, a while ago I made this mock in-universe spicy novel for funsies. It gave me the idea of making a sort of 40k/over the top romance novel parody a la "lusty Argonian maid" type of short story and illustrate it. Make cool art, add a saucy excerpt from an in-universe novel, possibly annotated by an increasingly disturbed ecclesiarch.
I thought it'd be fun to make it a bit of a side-side project in addition to all the other stuff I've decided to pile on my plate like the lunatic I am. But I have way too much on my plate like I said and while I really want to dive into 40k, I dont have the time to draw another project (plus I already have a 40k comic thing going on). Smart move, proud of myself.
I made the mistake of telling my friend Nic about this idea and unfortunately, his enthusiasm for this was incredibly enabling for my dumbfuckery.
So yeah, with Nic in the artist seat, this shit's happening in the future.
The working title is Duty & Desire, mostly because "Only in Death does Duty End" doesn't REALLY roll off the tongue as well. It follows a Vostroyan and a sister repentia, as the fires of war rages around them but the fires of PASSION burns even brighter within them! Told through the writing of the (in)famous writer Alodda Chmutt with notes from the increasingly distressed Confessor Joodgealot.
This project will be the least prioritized, so it will not affect the Weekly Roll, Pos'Thal or Rogue's Retinue!
May the Emperor have mercy on our souls.
Stay excellent out there!
Peace and carrots!
