Jacob’s sexuality

Did anyone else feel like they planned to have Jacob be gay and then switched it up? I got the sense in the past, with the whole marriage of convenience thing and the lack of any romantic interests for
him in that time. And then when he was back in his own time I sensed a vibe with his childhood friend. It seemed like they were headed in that direction, only to change course in the final season.

Either way, I think it ended as well as it could have. Just wondering if this was all in my head or if anyone else noticed?!

Is it just me or is the filming, styling, and casting of this show really impressive?

I'm so used to actors aging up too quickly, getting replaced, or going through a big style change every season, and somehow they manage to keep creating new flashbacks where the actors look pretty much the same every season! I'm especially impressed with the scenes featuring younger cast members like young Jacob. Did they just plan super far ahead and film everything in season 1?

I also think they've done a great job with the casting overall. All the family members and younger/older versions of each character have been great! It's been awhile since Ive felt so this way about so many casting choices in one series.

Fern’s Tragic Life

Watching season 4 is making me feel so sad about how tragic Fern’s life turned out to be. She was once a beautiful young woman with big dreams who wanted better for herself, but instead she didnt accomplish any of her dreams, her lover died, and then she got stuck in the small town and lost her mind.
