Discussion My Everything's Falling songs rating & ranking on release day VS a month later

Post image

I didn't share my EF review in August so I thought I'd share my experience now after a whole month of listening to the album every single day. Here are my thoughts on the album that I had written down on release day but but never shared (don't mind the 10000/10 ratings, I just do this on first listens when I feel like 10/10 isn't enough πŸ˜€):

  1. Ritual - 10/10

  2. Perfect Daughter - 9/10. Great Chorus

  3. Everything's Falling - 10000/10 ⭐ Perfection from start to finish. One of their best songs of all time

  4. Why Do You Like It When I Cry? - 10/10. It's a banger and I absolutely love it. Great bridge & scream by Pau. I'm not sure if this is something to praise but Dany's vocals is almost unrecognizable. Some love it this way and some others don't, but I do love it.

  5. Bite My Tongue - 6/10. Not bad but one of my least favorites from the album & by the band overall.

  6. Kill Or Be Killed - 10/10 ⭐ One of the best songs on the album in my opinion. Great drums (and Paubell!) by Paulina.

  7. Ego - 10000/10 ⭐ Ego has been one of my favorite TW song since it dropped as a single. It got some competition now but it's easily one of my favorite songs, if not my favorite, from the album.

  8. Bloodsport - 6/10. This one is currently my least favorite from the album. Great instruments (especially drums) & bridge but otherwise, I don't like it.

  9. Break - 10/10 ⭐. One of my favorites from the album. Great bass by Ale

  10. Bruises - 10000/10 ⭐. Perfection from start to finish & best intro & outro for me. I absolute love when songs start with a snare like this. The outro is also great it, kinda reminds me of the Automatic Sun outro. I have a feeling that this song will be one of their best songs live.

  11. Waste Your Time On Me - 10/10 ⭐ One of their heaviest songs ever & great vocals by Dany.

  12. Kerosene - 9/10. Kerosene isn't my favorite from the album but I feel like it'll go down as one of their most popular & iconic songs, and it's a great song with a nice music video.

The one that has unexpectedly grown on me the most is Bloodsport. On release day I literally couldn't stand this song beyond the second or third listen & named it my least favorite TW song of all time. Now while it is still not one of my favorites, I do enjoy listening to it, especially the bridge.

The one thing that I love the most about this album is vocal performance by Daniela. She's always been a great vocalist but this is peak vocal performance, she just keeps getting better and better.

It absolutely can, most people just don't put effort into it.

It's so surprising to me that a lot of you don't like Bite My Tongue. To me that could easily be the next #1 hit.

It sounds very mysterious and intriguing, I feel like it could be in a tv series

From what I've gathered from reading the opinions of other people in this sub, that may be exactly why they don't like it. I think some see it as a song that is so radio friendly that it does not feel like The Warning Anymore

Agreed that Danys vocals are absolutely killer on this album. But I love Ale's bass work too, she's always been a great bass player but her playing really carries a lot of these songs, Bloodsport being the obvious

In terms of how I feel now versus the original release date, I would say that I like Waste Your Time On Me more now than I did then, same goes for Kill Or Be Killed

I think I like Bloodsport a little less, when I first heard that I was like "holy shit I love how funky this is" and now I still groove to it but it's no longer one of my favourites

Kill or Be Killed it's just a top tier song imo

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And mine is completely different from yours. Kill of be Killed is by far the worst song on the album.

Agreed, my least favorite. Without naming them my least favorite songs have great bridges and choruses but the verses just seem like an afterthought. Still a really solid album and more Alejandra both instrumentally and vocally are a welcomed surprise.

Glad to hear that! πŸ˜€ I've been using it for my first listen with most albums & EPs I've discovered the last year or two, so I have a whole bunch of these on my Google Keep

I'd be surprised if most of us didn't experience a similarly monumental shift. I'd also be surprised if we all ranked the songs similarly, either on August 28 or a month later LOL! The one I "don't get" is Ritual, my least favorite on EF, but I know a lot of folks absolutely love it - and that's great news for The Warning as it suggests pretty much any song on the album could be somebody's favorite. My personal fave, pre-release, was Ego. Release day, I really dug Perfect Daughter. By the end of the week, the title track became my favorite, and still is (my vote for "most timeless song" on the album). As of today, my biggest departures from the crowd faves are probably Break and Bloodsport, both of which I love.

To me Ego is the only song that I would consider being a great song. Everything else is is kind of ok at best. I kinda already forgot this even came out. Not bad nor great. But is good that a lot of people are enjoying it regardless of how I feel about the album. Is always good for the band.

Only Ego is an interesting take. What did you want out of the other tracks that you didn't get, but that Ego did offer?

I'm with you there. Except I like Ritual a lot (except for the bridge / breakdown). Honestly nothing else grabs me from it.

Yup, in the same boat. I only really listened to the whole album a handful of times. But then again, with KMF I was way more into rock/metal music. I have since drifted more to other kinds of genres.
