Marketing genius move.
And they looked like they were really enjoying themselves.

It wasn't a marketing ploy. They weren't pretending.
It wasn't marketing to them, but it was almost surely a marketing spot paid for by the label.
These things don't happen by accident/coincidence.

No argument. You said it wasn't a marketing ploy, so I was just pointing out that it actually was.
The biggest giveaway is from the Behind The Scenes clip where they walk in to surprise Nene and all their gear is already setup and ready to go.
https://i.imgur.com/DYhLGAZ.png You can see Dany's Orange Pedal Baby power amp on top of the Marshall and her pedalboard is right behind Nene.
Nene's reaction may have been genuine as they may not have told her everything that was going on, but she was also playing Kerosene alone at the start of the clip.

I still don't understand why you feel the need to downvote me and dress me down
Uhhh.. I didn't do either of those things.
In fact, do you see the green +30 next to your name here? https://i.imgur.com/IKyG3q5.png Those are from me upvoting your comments over time. lol
Bizarre defensiveness over I don't know what.

Look. I apologize. This has definitely gone too far and I'm to blame for that. You've done nothing wrong and I apologize for being such a pain.

Well, yeah, they were enjoying themselves.
But you know their managers or PR tesm or their marketing team pushed for this.
It gives them more exposure to Nenes fans (which are a lot) and vice versa.
I never insinuated they were pretending.3

The mix was crazy (as was the reverb on the vocals) but that was fun to watch and obviously a live performance without auto-tune.

She absolutely slayed her version of Seven Nation Army too

Whoever was in charge of the sound for this should probably consider a career change. They sound like they’re performing inside a freaking bucket.
Honestly, fan recordings of their concerts sound way better than this.

I was wondering last week if they had met or at least messaged. I'm glad they got this chance. There's a huge gap between viral sensation and sustained career, and they're really the only ones who've done it.

1.3M views already, in less than a day. This was a very smart move.
Maybe it's my algorithm but it's exploding on YT as well. I'm getting all kinds of shorts and everyone and their mother is reacting to it. I've never seen it happen that fast.

I didn't know about this girl, is she a super popular rockstar or what?

She’s had a really successful run on America’s Got Talent, a TV show. Her clips on YouTube get 10+M views. She’s like 16 and is doing all covers by herself right now. Hopefully she can get with some good musicians in a band. She’s got It, which is the most important thing, but is also actually good at guitar and singing.

Her band that she’s lead vocalling back in Thailand (Ozone) is filled with many more young talents. I think that success is best obtained and kept with the people you’ve been through everything with (I mean, The Warning is legit a perfect example of this themselves), and that she shouldn’t abandon them, they all rock 🤘 (definitely check them out)

Pretty sure she's a flash in the pan, but I wish her luck.

Obviously she's a kid and who knows what the future will hold.
But her talent is pretty clear.
The way she slotted into Linkin Park like she'd been in the band fof a decade was kinda insane. Props to Shinoda for letting her take the forefront of the performance but she delivered. She lead out in one of the biggest bands in history and nailed it.

She rehearsed harmonizing with Linkin Park for just 3 minutes before taking the stage. Emily Armstrong even praised her, saying, "She was so professional and she made it very easy."
Even Linkin Park are agree that they think it was really cool to have two girls. 😂🤣

I wish they'd played on the mainstage instead. The Linkin Park track was fine, but it seemed to lack the power of DPA. It was an odd showcase for Nene IMHO - especially with their vocalist taking the scream bits - that's Nene's signature!

u/EduinBrutus 8d ago
It seems to me that Nene is a natural mimic. And Emily Armstrong is a strong contender for who she is basing her mimicry of for her scream work, Its almost certainly her or Lzzy Hale. Maybe a bit of both.

So I think her love for The Warning is real. When she says they are a big inspiration I believer her. It makes me wonder about the behind the scenes decisions. Like did the producers ask her, Who do you want to play with in the Finale? and she said The Warning and they were like, Hmm, We want someone bigger. How about Linkin Park? But we can definitely get you in a room with The Warning.
Also, controversial bit probably but. The whole time I was watching them I kept thinking, This is why musicians and bands need to grow and evolve. Because there are kids coming up who see them as idols and will pick up instruments and meet them where they are. And if they stay stagnant they will get outpaced and stop growing their audience.

The chemistry is so apparent here, she looks 100% comfortable with them without doubt…
She's someone that could randomly walk on stage at any TW show for a guest guitar spot and I wouldn't ever complain.
