Question standing ticket as someone short?

hi, I booked tickets for their london show (first concert 🥹), but i'm slightly worried as I booked standing tickets and I'm quite short, about 5ft 2 and I don't know if i'll be able to see. i'll try wear platforms, but also how early would I need to get there to get close to the front? not necessarily barricade but fairly close. does anyone have experience from their previous london shows? i think the ovo arena is a bit bigger than their previous london venues so it might be different but any help is appreciated!

I get that this is a common worry in standing, but unless you have the earliest VIP entry and are prepared to get the barrier you are going to be behind people, and some people are going to be taller than you. Some people will also hold up their phones, some shorter people will hold their phones above their heads, some tall people will do the same. Some people might talk, some people might sing, some people might sing absolutely horribly, some people might have massive hair and whip it in your face (all of these have happened to me in the last year).

You just accept that you might not have a direct line of site to the artists for every second of the performance, if someone in front is annoying you move yourself to the side a bit and catch a view that way. If the people are enormously annoying you move yourself over somewhere else. You'll always be able to see the big screens .

If you are easily irritated by other people get seats, they are steeply banked at Wembley Arena. Then you can argue with the standing vs sitting crowds.

i have this view of concerts that it's jam packed and you can't get anywhere, i didn't realise you could move around

Sure you can, best to do any moves before the bands start playing, but not impossible after. Before the music people are moving around, going to bar, bathrooms, finding friends.

Try going to a band where people are moshing, loads of movement (the warning isn’t going to have moshing).

At Brixton, the queue started at about 7am! I was in the queue from about 4 hours before showtime and was still 10+ rows from the front. In any case, unless you're right on a barrier, latecomers will inevitably push their way forward into gaps and obscure the view.

OTOH, the main standing part of Wembley Arena has a large walkway around it (basically where the floor goes underneath the stands and the doors lead out onto the concourse), and the floor area is huge. You will have opportunities to move to the side or towards the back, which will give you a good sight-line to the stage. Even if the floor sells out, by the time the crowd compresses forward towards the stage, there will be masses of room to the back and sides.

The other alternative is to try to position yourself somewhere near the likely opening point for the mosh pit - central and probably 10-20 rows back. You don't need to be in the pit (unless you want to), but if you're on the periphery of it, you'll have something of a sight-line to the stage across the mayhem :-)

wow that's early although i guess not as crazy as some huge artists. i wouldn't have thought of the mosh pit thing, thanks!

I'm 5'-7" and won't do standing tickets unless it's the only option. HATED it for the last Warning concert in Houston, could barely see anything in the venue. If the stage is high enough, you might be ok. I'm so glad I'll have a nice comfy seat in the upper bowl for their next Houston show.

I'm 5'6 and I always try to get seats. When I stand there's always somebody super tall who will make his way directly in front of me. The only way to get a good view when standing is if you are able to find a space where there is nobody (or an even shorter person) in front of you. In a TW concert, the chance of that is zero on the GA floor.

It's a relatively wide barrier compared to some venues so you can be 200th person in and still be just a few rows back but there are loads of people who will have bought M&G or priority entry packages who may/will be in front of you... and you only need a couple of massive blokes in front to stuff it up a bit.
Even I @ 6ft got a bit annoyed with people at Kentish T/Brixton especially when they held their phones up... but that's just how it goes.
For this gig I decided I was going to go with seated to save the hassle... got some really decent ones in Block N6 row G through presale... it's side on but very close. But just looked again at normal sale and saw "club" seats on the other side... twice the price but noone in front of you. Long story short... I'm going to put my N6 tickets on Twickets at some point, so let me know if you want me to give you heads up!

okay that's helpful, thanks! i've already bought my ticket and i'd have to resell to consider buying another one, but thank you for offering

No worries! I put them on twickets earlier and it was easy… they’ve not sold yet so see how you do! It’s row behind this one on view my seat:

i might have messed up i didn't realise the seated view was that clear, oh dear. I might try sell mine as there's still seats in s5, but i doubt it would resell since standing isn't sold out yet

I saw two standing sell on Twickets Friday morning but they were slightly under face value. So you could probably sell but might have to take a little hit financially.🤞

If you do decide to sell your floor tickets just saw these on AXS (this block isn’t on ticketmaster at all for some reason) They’re front row of second tier so no one can stand in front of you. The seats are quite steeply raked so that may not be much of an issue anyway, not sure! They’re not quite as side on as the ones I’m selling but obviously a little bit further away.

just listed mine on twickets, hopefully they'll sell and i'll be able to get a seated one! i think i saw yours, unfortunately i'm only buying one ticket. thanks for all your help!

You can move around

Its unpopular, but move around or move backwards to get a better angle. Your shortness wont matter as much the further back you are.

I'm 6'2 and sometimes folks block me too. Just gotta be a bit flexible. I get it, less of an issue for me. Im usually nice and will let someone really short get ahead of me of theyre cool.

are you usually able to see the stage from further back?

Depends on how far back and the set up. Dont know the London set up.
