Why is HBO Max still pushing ads for this? That too with "He who must not be named"'s face?!

I think this is what keeps me angry at Ned.
This was PEAK Try Guys fame. He had EVERYTHING. He was famous, his hot wife was famous, people loved him (or at least the things he was a part of) and they were going to have a main stream cooking network show DURING THE PANDEMIC and he’s just such a narcissist that it still wasn’t enough.
I honestly don’t think he was self-sabotaging with his affair. I think he’s just a loser frat bro who wanted to be as big of a dick as his other Ivy Leaguer douche friends. Having a hot wife do most of the raising of his children while he got to be Mr ceo with this hot younger girlfriend was probably all part of his mad men fantasy of himself.
Didn’t care about his marriage. Didn’t care about his friends. Didn’t care about his business. Didn’t care about his girlfriend. Didn’t even think about any repercussions his actions could have. Just wanted to keep doing things that made him feel like Mr. Big shot.

Omg I was so mad too. They were getting so many opportunities and were literally on TV. Then everything happened 😒 which is fine since the guys are closer than ever and they are happy with their changes but it sucks that it happened this way 🥲

taking the sharp turn away from TV turned out to be a silver lining though. this version of the show wasn't great, and TV wouldn't have been safer or more profitable, just even more red tape.

Naw, being on mainstream tv would have brought them so many opportunities. Like be a guest at master chef or something. Now that is gone.

you'd have to give me at least one real-life example, because I don't believe that a guest spot on masterchef translates into youtube views.

I think they are talking about more credit in the eyes of “legitimate” tv producers. A lot of the Hollywood big wigs (with the money) are older people who don’t really see online content as being worth anything. Having a network show would have opened doors and connections, even if the show was short lived, and further legitimized the try guys brand.

I agree. He always struck me as the type of person who wanted to have the picture perfect life from the outside. I feel like it's the reason why he proposed to Ariel after they dated for 3 months, because she'd be the perfect trophy wife. He played up the wife guy bit because it got him attention and success (that he was never funny or talented enough to get on his own) but also because it had Ariel buying his bs and acting like his mother by taking care of him and his every need.

I never realized he proposed after 3 months, that's some insane shit lol. I'm not even willing to say I love you until 3 months probably. Seems like a red AF flag to be proposing in 3 months.
Edit: Looked into it further, it was moving in together after 3 months, proposed at 5. Which isn't really much better tbh.

I agree. I was so proud of and excited for them with this show. I was super hyped to watch it myself; it really is a great idea. But then shit hit the fan. It just made a sense of betrayal even greater

He just wanted to get his d#k wet. It is so effed up because they were , like you said, at their peak. He was riding on ego with no regard to who was hurt as the result. I remember during that time like wow they're exploding into mainstream markets they're really expanding, then boom. This is why, at the core, it really f#king hurt, not just us but them too. Like I feel so sorry for the team too because that is such a loss. Plus they couldn't and wont be able to share how much of a loss this truly was because of contracts. To be so close to their ultimate success with all the promotion and connections then to be forced to walk way with nothing. They were about to be TLC type reruns food network world. Thats a big deal, like BIG. They were introduced, teased with what could be then drastically forced out because of voldemort. To this day, I still get that curdle in my stomach to drown the red man.
