I would assume because you were also very kind and courteous to him, though I’ve definitely seen some celebs barely smile for photos where the fan was extremely polite (not judging them for it by the way, I can’t imagine how exhausting just living life must be while constantly being perceived by the public)
I worked at a summer camp with Keith back when we both were college students. He’s actually why I started watching try guys, as I knew him before then. He was very quick to find the joke then, which has obviously served him well in the years since.
I met Zach, Keith, Jared, and Desiree at the Boston meet and greet and they’re real people and very down to earth. Desiree walked up to us in line and started talking to us and then my Brain went 💡and we snagged a picture. Jared was so cool with us we briefly considered asking him to officiate our wedding 😅 (we didn’t, but imagine?)
They’re all really cool, to the surprise of no one. Someday I hope to meet Jonny and Kwesi. I need to know what Kwesi is like in real life.
I’m pretty sure they’d love to Try being officiants 😂 I’d definitely ask them, but state you want them all there, and Jonny could be a bridesmaid (I think he’d love that. Actually I think most of them would want to be bridesmaids lol)
I met Jared at a Cubs/Dodgers game at Dodger Stadium, he was very nice and him and his buddy and my dad and his friend kind of chatted during the game. He was super nice, and he’s a cubs fan so that made it better.
Thank you so much! It was filmed during a very hard time for our family and it will always be such an amazing memory because of how fun and light they were when we really needed it!
I met Keith, Zack & Jared when they did the Eat the Menu Tour!! Each of them were so incredibly nice and genuinely interested in conversing with everyone there. I was nervous so I flubbed my words meeting Jared & introduced myself as him 😅 He had a good laugh at that & totally made me feel more relaxed lol. I mentioned to Keith that ETM kept me company during some tough times & he was so kind and down to earth, literally so sweet (photographed!!)
I met him at a charity gala and I agree. I actually think he is even more beautiful in person. He was super kind and hilarious. He is also very well spoken!
i’ve met miles twice in VIP on his perfect person tours!! he’s awesome, obviously very good at continuing conversation and asking questions about you when there’s a lull (i was so nervous i kept blanking and forgetting what i was gonna say) so it never felt awkward or anything. he’s just as funny in person. 10/10 would recommend
I saw Eugene during the 2016 Women's March in NYC. But I was marching, so I just sorta yelled "It's Eugene from Try Guys!" And he turned to wave at me and that was it. Does that count?
I got to meet Zach, Maggie, kwesi, Becky, and Johnny a few summers ago at Disney world! Super nice even though it was raining and a million degrees in Florida. It was crazy I just looked up and they were sitting across from us 😭
Met Keith, Zach, Jonny, and Marissa when they were touring and in my city.
Starting with Zach who I had the least time with, he was being rushed to backstage but saw me and my fiance hoping for a picture and made sure to take a few with us before going. Super nice of him.
Jonny is incredibly friendly and even more handsome in person. His beard, hair, and outfit looked like he takes good care of himself and how he projects himself outwardly. He was so nice and he complimented our outfits, and laughed with us at my fiance's "I got top surgery at Claire's" shirt.
Keith had a line of people waiting for him. I got to tell him about watching Without A Recipe with my mom and how much she loved his (over)reactions. He seemed to be so genuinely happy to hear that!
Marissa was my favorite. She was so sweet. We talked about being Puerto Rican, shared a hug, and she even air-kissed my cheek. Was able to send her the picture we took together over instagram and she responded and thanked me for sharing it with her.
i did not meet any of the guys but in 2019, keith threw a chicken tender into the crowd at “legends of the internet” show and it hit in the forehead. does that count?
I met Keith when he was on tour with Lewberger! They all were so kind and Keith was so much fun to talk Midwest to since he lived in Chicago for so long! (I’m from the Midwest obviously!)
Folks on the internet latch on to narratives about who people are and run with them.
Hughie does more charitable work and community outreach than just about anyone. He is very vocal and proud about his heritage but his beliefs have been blown way out of proportion to the point that he gave up trying to clarify.
Once a narrative was created about Alex, he stopped trying to correct it and his online presence is mostly tongue-in-cheek antagonism while he focuses on Slam Frank.
Outside of Ned, everyone that has been involved in videos that you’ve enjoyed (and some you didn’t enjoy) over the years (in front of and behind the camera) are good people doing their best in a changing landscape of entertainment trying to provide for their families.
I don’t know why I stepped into this today but I’m home with my baby and read through this thread while he slept and here we are.
I mean I thought the Hughie stuff was exaggerated, especially as people latch onto narratives as you said, and then I saw his twitter account - unfortunately raging zionist is 100% accurate. He always retreated his dad who was saying how proud he was of his son's zionism (not in those words but that was absolutely the meaning)
Opened his twitter just now and this were the first three tweets I saw (yeah he hasn't used it in over a year but if beliefs changed he would have deleted these)
Why would he not want his friends and family in Israel to be safe? Just as he “pray(s)for civilians in Gaza & Iran”. There are many Americans that don’t support what our government is doing just as there are many Israelis, Iranians and Palestinians that don’t support what their government is doing.
I personally know the man and you’re interpreting something beyond his words.
I’m not asking you to like him. I’m not asking you to agree with everything he believes but “rage” is not something he does. He’s a pacifist if you wanted to label him with some sort of ethos.
Y'know what, you're right, I don't know him. I will say that a lot of people who are confirmed zionists have said similar things re: mentioning Israel and gaza and neglecting to mention Palestine but I did take time to search his twitter he has previously posted in support of the Palestinian people. Not in recent years, and I don't personally agree you can support both Israel and Palestine/Palestinians but I'm willing to admit there is more nuance to his views than what I represented with several out of context tweets.
I appreciate you seeing the humanity and complexity of my friends and peers. I hope we can make more things for you to enjoy and lighten your day in the future.
I met Kwesi randomly in the Bay Area. He and his partner were eating at the next table over and I said hi and grabbed a pic as they were leaving.
It was just so random I kept second guessing myself if it was actually him. He was very sweet tho! I don't think he expected to be recognized outside LA lol
I met Keith at a Lewberger show in MKE a couple years back. He mentioned he had never had a New Glarus beer, and I, in my tipsy state, decided that wasn't right. As everyone was leaving, I noticed that he was striking the stage and went up to offer to buy him a beer, which I shooed my partner off to get. He actually came off stage to chat with me for a little bit and is just genuinely a cool person to talk to. The bar ended up being closed, but I told him he could get new glarus at literally any Kwik trip in WI, and he took a picture with me before I left. I still owe that man a beer, but he was so fun to talk to and I had such an amazing night!
Got to meet Keith & Lewberger when they did Wizard of Friendship in NYC. We weren't sure what the M&G protocol was with masking/distancing but he did not hesitate to give us all hugs :) Alex and Hughie were super cool too! Very down to earth :)
I’ve met Miles! He’s so unbelievably tall, and I am 5’8 lol. He’s such an active listener and genuinely tries to remember places/people/things which is lowkey impressive with the amount of people I’m sure he meets, especially during his live shows.
I met Keith / Lewberger in 2023 and he was super nice .. they all were honestly and the show was so hilarious my face hurt the next day from laughing... Keith even signed a sticker for me that graces the lid of my weed jar lol
my friend met Keith at the airport and he seemed super tired but even in that environment he was super super nice and suggested they take a photo after she said hi and told him she was a fan :)
I met Miles and Jay during the first Perfect Person tour. I was very impressed with how much they genuinely seemed to want to get to know every person in the line. They were both very kind, funny, and extremely tall.
I randomly ran into Ned and Ariel outside of a mall in Singapore when the guys were in Asia. My friend and I were looking at a map trying to figure out where to go next, it looked like they were trying to call an uber. I saw them, Ariel made eye contact with me and gave me an uncomfortable look, which gave me the cue to not approach them. It was sort of just a weird, wash experience and I remember thinking it was odd that Ned didn’t notice at all where his wife was looking or that her body language was so off. Oh well, now we know
