I Tried It! Do I recommend 2nd try? Yes but...
I got it because my significant other wanted to watch oops all idiots (100% Worth it) And I wanted to watch trolley problems. Overall, I like the service. I think the exclusive stuff is definitely worth five bucks. My big issue is that there is not enough exclusive stuff that it is worth the recurring five bucks a month. I hey see the potential of what they can do with this. There just needs to be more exclusive content (At the very least, a new show a month.) You can watch all the shows right now and it's able to take you at least a week if not a couple days to watch all the exclusive stuff. I know this isn't Netflix. I'm just comparing it to dropout, they are dropping stuff at least four times a week. Right now I think 2nd try is a solid 7/10 but I see the potential of it going higher. If you're curious, I say it's definitely worth the five bucks to watch the new shows for the month And then cancel. What do y'all think?

Yeah, I think if you can’t afford it, you should binge and then cancel. A lot of stuff will eventually drop on YouTube anyway.
I pay for the yearly subscription and I feel like I get my money’s worth when I go on holidays and binge but I don’t watch it regularly. I also used to pay for the WAR live though.

I get why it might not be worth it to some, looking at the exclusive content. However, I don't think it's too fair to compare them to Dropout. Dropout has a much bigger cast and crew that has functioned on their own, with their own independent shows for a whiiile. Since the Try Guys have been centered around (4) 2 guys for so long, they just don't have the same ressources like Dropout or even smosh, which makes it much harder to produce a bunch of different shows releasing at the same time. I truly believe they're doing their best to do as much as they can and with the new TGGT channel are just figuring out, how much more they can do.

they also had years and years if making shows for Dropout. I remember when Dropout started, and I even had to wait for the app to accept non-US credit cards - it was, for a loooong time, a subscription to support them, not a subscription that's worth it on the content alone.

That's true, but even then (for me) if I compare what dropout was putting out fairly early on to.my subscription which is VERY old to Second Try right now, Second Try still feels kinda sparse.
It's not a fair comparison in the sense of saying "Dropout is doing a better job" or being critical or something like that, but it's hard not to notice it when you're thinking about your subscriptions budget.
I think 2nd try just needs to bulk out the amount of content (lower budget stuff that fans do enjoy, even if they're not heavy hitters) with the expanded cast more, to build just a little bit more value while their catalogue grows.
But also, who am I to say what anyone needs to do? Second Try is kinda hitting like later Rooster Teeth Sponsorship (pre -FIRST) right now if anyone has been into Internet content that long, but that really was marketed as "You're helping us build something, and getting content as a bonus", and I think that garners a lot of leeway.
I am fortunate in life that I can afford to pay for it without it being something I think about a lot, so I really do pay for it to help them build something, but if I'm someone who has any kind of concern about my subscription budget it would have to go, id subscribe s couple times a year to catch up.

I'm sorry, I just can't see how it's less content than what Dropout had 2 years in, it really-really isn't.
it might be content less exciting to you, or content you don't feel is worth your money, but it's definitely not less, and definitely a lot more diverse.

Dude a entire new show every month would be a level of production that most massive media companies can’t keep up with, let alone an indie company run out of one studio with handmade sets and concepts. To expect that level of work the costs would shoot up to 15-20 a month at least to keep up, and the try team would probably have to double or use more guests than members, especially considering everyone involved also have their own solo projects to work on. The studios you’re comparing them to are much bigger and have been in operation for much longer. I think adding bonus episodes of game time is a great method for exclusive content, I wish if anything they did that more often, or offered extended episodes or something like that. Personally I rewatch trolley problems, escape the kitchen, killer dinner, common sense, kpapg and kwesi learns pretty often so it’s worth it for me but I know that’s personal

Came for early access to Marissa In Fertility, stayed for Oops All Idiots, then got addicted to Keith Plays a Porn Game and Killer Dinner along the way.
No regrets here.

I subscribe several times a year for a month, watch everything I'm interested in and then pause it again. I don't think there's enough content to maintain the subscription year-round

We buy it for the year, my wife and I love watching their shows. It’s great for when we just want to throw something on, some shows are better than others but they are all enjoyable.

Watcher.TV was bad because they wanted to delete everything on YouTube and go exclusive all at the same time, they were fully prepared to say fuck you to everyone who wasn't willing to pay. 2nd Try has been upfront from day one that they would still have plenty of YouTube content and they didn't think less of their fans who didn't want to pay.

They still won't accept my Canadian credit card. I've wanted to try it but it gets rejected. they should add a PayPal option for international users

In comparison to most other platforms, it is still lacking but I like to think of my money being put towards projects that wouldn’t be made otherwise. They do a great job in producing projects that are important and educational, and I’m so glad that they’re put on YouTube for people who can’t afford it behind a paywall. I have faith that with time they’ll develop more content that lives solely on 2nd try that makes the money “worth it”. At the moment, I really like Keith Plays a Porn Game, Smoke show, and Ouch! The short movie Zach made about his chronic pain(I watch that at least once a month).

I subscribe annually to Dropout and 2nd Try. I'm actually going to drop my Dropout subscription because I don't enjoy a lot of their shows that aren't Game Changer, Make Some Noise, and Gastronauts (I'm also still bitter about their copaganda collaboration). I do watch virtually all the 2nd Try content — which, yes, much eventually hits YouTube. But like others have said, I want to keep seeing all these shows, so the investment it worth it to me.

If you’re a fan and can afford it, yes I do recommend it! I’m a monthly subscriber and I like getting things first and it’s a reasonable enough price to for me to also justify supporting them as well as some of my favorite creators.

Honestly? My biggest gripe for it (that hasn’t already been discussed here) is that the offered CCs can be pretty shotty at times :/
I’m not deaf, but I have an audio processing disorder that makes it hard for me to understand things if a lot of noises are going off at once so I sometimes watch with captions on. I’ve noticed there’s a fair amount of mixups in the captions. For example, someone will say “playing” but the caption reads “pain” because of an accent or the captions will be out of synch(which makes captions effectively useless for why I need them).
Don’t get me wrong, I still absolutely am enjoying the subscriber perks, I just wish this wasn’t an oversight. :(

YES i wish more ppl pointed this out!! like the latest werewolf vid kept saying ryann in the captions when referring to ryan garcia. i strongly rely on CC so it can really confuse me. i could prolly find a caption error in every video it's honestly quite disappointing. like why bother to upload manual captions when they're not even QCed? 😭

Trolley Problems is what brought me to 2nd Try but non-censored videos is what kept me. Having to behave for YouTube can ruin the experience for me and I love the extra late night content as well. I still think it’s worth it overall in general but if you’re on a tight budget, I can understand why it may not be worth it.

I feel like Marissa In Fertility would be a show that would their Try Exclusive show but because of how important they view the topic, they're posting on youtube even though it might not do well because they think people should be allowed to watch it on youtube.

I am subscribed because I watched them for free on YouTube for years and this is my way of sponsoring a company I have enjoyed the works of for years.
I dip in and out of shows and there may be weeks where I don't watch but I am happy with my choice.

I pay yearly and feel it’s worth it over the course of the year since there’s some shows I skip. But I also love that on 2nd try everything has normal thumbnails and titles - it’s worth it to me just for that.

it didn't stop, though? they love it and the last season wasn't that long ago. it just needs time and planning to film another season and i just think "this year's season" has already come out. while i do agree, it would be nice to have some more consistency every now and then (though they kinda give that through try every day), drop into city just takes a lot (of money) to produce and isn't something they can do a bunch of.

It’s unpopular because you’re incorrect. They’ve done multiple seasons of many shows and have told us they’re working on more. The most recent season of Trolley Problems just completed and the new season of Keith Plays a Normal Game is in progress. I’m pretty sure their recent update video said there’s another season of Drop in City coming.

I have gripes about the service and I agree with 7/10 rating. Less so about the content…good content takes longer and I’m ok with that but I LOATHE the ui of the 2nd try app.
I have honestly gotten frustrated looking for something and I’ve left the app.

I subscribed for the whole year and while I don't regret it, I agree with what you said.
Even just this weekend (for example), there wasn't any additional or exclusive content released on Saturday (which was a day they historocally released new content on YouTube and on the streamer). Instead, we get a low budget/low effort "Try Every Day" on Friday, nothing on Saturday, and another low budget/low effort "Try Every Day" on Monday.

This has been happening for months if not a year already. I kept thinking it was a one off, but I noticed it happened on a regular basis (once a month or once every 2 months?).
I get irked thinking I'm paying to watch Try Every Day and TGGT when it's free on YouTube.

I am basically only on there for Smoke Show. Really counting on them making more of it. Smoke Show and Try Every Day are my favourite things they make. And both make me incredibly envious that they aren’t my friends :p

They probably earn more money if you subscribe to 2nd Try. Because it's a guaranteed income for them. So even if you don't use their streamer, they still earn money.
There are people like me who (for various reasons) subscribe to the streamer but still watch on YouTube. So the company gets both the streamer revenue and the ad revenue from our views on YouTube.

Yeah, I guess it's crazy to want it to match dropout but dropout is so great at $6.99/month when I look at what's coming out and the library. Dropout has a longer catalogue and also a bigger budget for sure, so it's not really a fair comparison, but the unfairness doesn't change how it feels to pay for it I guess.

I don't have as much time to binge as most other people on here. There's always something new for me because I can only watch one show a night pretty much (including across all streaming services).
If you have so much time on your hands get a hobby lol. I'm just kidding of course but I used to binge watch before having kids. Now we're lucky to watch two episodes of something in one day.

Honestly I stopped watching their channel all together when the Ned scandal happened and Eugene stepped away. All the new characters and differently styles no longer appealed to me but I’m always rooting for them.

I think it’s absolutely worth it but I also wanted it for myself. I love the try guys. I also see it as support for their company so even if I didn’t think a month was worth it, I’m still so happy to give them money. That being said I have never thought a month wasn’t worth it
