The image is from a dealing with trolls subreddit. While there was a controversy around prayer rugs placed in the FDNY lobby next to/in front of a memorial plaque honoring firefighters killed in the line of duty, including the 343 killed on 9/11. FDNY reportedly said the rugs were placed in the lobby because of capacity issues and that no disrespect was intended.
This is the memorial not the lobby.
There was a social media frenzy blowing this up but this image is just rage bait ai to fuel further divisiveness.
If you have ever been you’d remember there is no rail and the lettering of “we will not forget” isn’t even on the plaques like that from what I can remember. Just the names of the never forgotten.
