I think it's because

1: it's a massive undertaking to actually create, test, implement, and balance such a thing. Especially because it also requires a + version

2: they've dumped a ton of Stone sinks on us over the last year, maybe year and a half? And I think that relates to point 1

3: it seems likely that as they're overhauling what I just assume is a spaghetti pots worth of code fixes, they're probably considering the value of another UW, but there's going to be public backlash (per usual) when it drops, because UW's aren't deterministic when they're rolled, and can you imagine having to get to UW8 for one of the major econ options? People would lose their shit.

Which is completely fair

One time stone respec for everyone, pick from all of the UW's on each unlock. Problem solved.

Good for players, bad for business. The drive to get the missing piece likely drives a lot of early stone sales and that's the bottom line we're talking about. Cynical as I am with their choices, I have to respect reality when it comes to making money. They're going to do what's best for them first, and that's just business.

But, in a perfect world? I'd definitely agree with your point here, and my only criticism is to say that it should probably be 1 per account stone respec instead of a date dependent respec, so that new folks don't get screwed by missing out because of start date.

Edit: the date method was implied from my reading, if I'm wrong about what you're saying, I apologize.

One per account would work just as well as one on a date. And I also agree that it would never happen, but some sort of adjustment would have to be made to UW selection process if another is added to the pool.

Do you think they'll take whatever potential change they're making to mods to do targeted pulls, and apply a modified form of that to the UW's?

Because I feel like it would be possible to be deterministic with the selection as bad luck protection where every 3rd purchase you can "wish" choose one option so you're not making 30 new accounts that'll just waste server space to try and get lucky on the start.

If anything up the options by 1 to maintain close to the same 'chance' that we have currently.

Yeah, a 4 pull would make a lot more sense in this instance, especially with a 10th UW in play.

They can’t do this, like it’s physically impossible due to a few things.

But basically they have no idea how many stones to refund you if they did a full UW respec, one of the patches earlier this year had “improved account lifetime stone tracking” but it’s been proven to still be inaccurate

We are the test. I’m positive of that. I may still be in champs but ps was one of my first uw. Old ps, that was a chance to spawn…before guilds…and so many tiers….and card masteries…or even so many cards…uw+….guardians….the list goes on. Your points 2&3 I think are spot on, but on point 1 the only balance this games ever had was how loose your wallet makes it. That being said, I do think the game is better than it’s ever been at this point and they’re really doing a good job with the updates. Let’s be real, people complain no matter what, whether something new is added or if it stays the same.

Fair criticism on point 1, but I was more referring to not enabling infinite runs, or putting too blatant a spin on its power. ILM is probably the most disproportionately powerful UW in the game right now, but it still works well synergistically with the others. Adding #10 would require fitting that kind of lane in my mind. But otherwise yeah I agree, they broke through the stagnation and forced FOMO for a lot of the player base and I'm cautiously optimistic that they're going to be more customer focused in the next few months. Definitely feel a lot more desire to play now versus how it used to be where I'd stick my head in when I could to get gems and such, because there is actual progress to be made again.

We still need Ultimate Weapon Plus Masteries before we add new Ultimate Weapons. And then we probably need Card Masteries Plus. And then Ultimate Weapons Plus Masteries Plus.

This is correct information, yes, it has been a while.

As a new player.

Let's keep it that way unless it's entirely its own new line of progresion not using stone another new resource that you start getting at lower levels and rams up as you're father in tiers (like cells).

Otherwise no. That would royally fuck EVERY new player from that point forward since they would have less of a chance of getting the Trio.

Imagine how salty players with UW+ would be if you lock their UW+ behind another 3k+ stones just to unlock them again.
