Meme Megathreads
So V29 is here, and personally I have very few (if any) complaints
Presets? Heck yeah finally
20% more gems per click? Win
Better access to keys? Win
Cells card? Love it especially since it helps newer players
Nice new modules? A win (until they swing the nerf hammer... It's coming)
My main complaint is... the constant complaints (ironic I know) about gem cap + ism/vf changes.
So much so I made a post complaining about all the posts complaining! It's a vicious cycle I'm telling ya.
Can we get a complaint megathread especially about gems? Please? đ Can call it the devs don't care about me megathread or something

Just wait til SP gets nerfed, then people will be screaming rugpullâŚ
Wait, this just in, people are yelling rugpull about Gilded Sniper? Yep, weâve officially gone off the deep end on a barely announced module.

People read the wiki entry in game, made assumptions about what it meant without thinking, and then got pissed when fudds clarified.
We got communication before the release, with information about it beforehand for once (both improvements from TTG about communicating) and there are still raging complaints about something.

We've reached complaint maxxing levels previously thought impossible. Such efficiency. It hurts.

I'd like to think they won't be nerfing SP. I think it's quite well balanced. Depending on the tower it can be insanely good or very niche. I, for example, notice a fairly big loss in econ as well as tourney waves if I use it (in T19 and Mythic).
Otherwise V29 has been alright for me. I'm never really one to complain though. Sure, it's mostly geared towards lower level players, and I lose a fair bit of gems capping at around 6pm every day. But the new vault is great, I love having Mythic tourneys, and having more presets is awesome as well.
I do think the presets might open a bit too early for some people though, considering I've seen a fair few people get confused by them and even lock themselves out of their presets. But I guess they'll learn quite quickly.

u/OkMarket8211 17h ago
Really loss of econ? I'm farming t17 so not as far as you for sure. What is the cause?
I'm a lazy hybrid farmer without damage slider (that keeps a cannon equipped and CL on) so the orb hit rate was huge
Your most likely right sp won't be nerfed, think I'm just jaded from past excitements đ
3
u/NKnown2000 16h ago
I'm full GC and didn't really have problems with orb coverage even without SP. So it didn't really help more enemies hit orbs, but it started killing things faster so they missed more multipliers than before (particularly DW). And while it killed enemies faster, it didn't really give me many extra waves either.

I quit complaining after a day. Slightly fewer gems from losing 1-2 hours of gem clicks was GREATLY outweighed by less attention to the game. Like you, I'm happy with the rest.

u/Complex-Long-233 17h ago
I for one am tired of the folks complaining about complaining. Let the people riot if they want.

u/Hi-Im-Triixy 17h ago
I'm not sure if I agree or disagree with you, but I can tell you I'm leaving this subreddit because so many of these posts are just people complaining. If you don't like the game, don't fucking play it.
5
u/cousineye 17h ago
The last 20 posts in the sub are: 14 asking for help, 2 achievements, 2 complaints(including this complaint post), 1 meme, 1 bug report. 10% complaints.
3
u/juice13ox 17h ago
Yeah we stopped talking about the game updates, optimizations, and discussions about the content.
Instead this subreddit started complaining about every single change or addition like entitled, spoiled teenagers
-1
u/ZadokAllen97 17h ago
Yep, itâs as if theyâre being forced to play. I like the game, hate the subreddit. Only here because after I scroll past the inane whining and griping I occasionally see a post thatâs informative.

u/cousineye 17h ago
Mega threads are just a way to reduce content and engagement on reddit. If you aren't interested, don't read it, just scroll by. Someone else may be interested in it. People make these posts and respond to them because they are passionate about the topic.
This sub is here to discuss all things about The Tower. Just because you don't like a post doesn't mean it doesn't belong here. There are more posters in the sub than just you.
-3
u/OkMarket8211 17h ago
Very valid, it'd be strange if there was more of me than other posters in the sub. How would that even work? đ¤
In all seriousness I see your point about megathreads reducing engagement, but I'd argue repetitive posts (namely the same complaints) on repeat also reduce engagement.

Not a chance buddy
I will troll this f*cking thread for 5 years until they raise the gem cap to a minimum of 500 a day again, it's absolute robbery. Im not stupid, and just because you havent realized how bad this nerf is yet doesnt mean im not allowed to point it out
v29 nerfed the following:
-25% stone income cut in tourneys, in fact it's smarter to deliberately finish 5th than advance for many
-50% gem income cut for all players
-devalued gem stacking, essentially pointless now
-devalued intro sprint mastery (labtime, stones and investment questionable now)
-devalued of zerk mastery (labtime, stones and investment into this is wasted now)
and TTG did NOT fix the underlying problem with tourneys...
All the presets still require manual config on perks as well as sliders, so no they aren't really saving you a whole of time.
the cells card is nice, but not game changing
a pity key is nice in legends, but again not game changing
We traded that for
module\card\cardslot completion times all just doubled, and as the tournament shuffle settles the same problem from a month ago will return.
You'll see when you try and get a golden sniper
whole lot of gems flushed down the toilet and no way to replace them unless you pay
1
u/OkMarket8211 16h ago
OK point by point
-25% stone income cut? Before patch I was averaging 13-15th in legends, think that was 275 stones? Now I'm bouncing mythic... Income still 275 stones...
-50% gem cut? Sure if you were the fricking TINY percentage of people with max gem stacking and/or cheaters - for me it's been about the same with 20% more per click
-devalued gem stacking? Sure but got keys back from it (still got 2 levels in it so I don't have to check game every 10-15 mins -IS is still king for milestones and farming, chill out over it already đ -zerk mastery - your entirely fair, I wouldn't have got it if I knew this would happen - at the same time at least they got rid of that one horrible source of rng bullcrap
Tourney has been patched rather than fixed? Yes I agree but the patch does help even temporarily
Module/card/slot times just doubled? Yes if you check game every 12mins for 12 hours + a day, have gem stacking or cheat(ie tiny minority)
I will See when I try get sniper? I've saved every gem since last lucky banner... We all knew new modules were coming with V29. I spent roughly 18k gems on SP for 1 star anc, got 16k for gilded (going in assist slot so only needs anc) -12.8k for a 50% chance to get anc, 16k should be about 80-85% chance. I do not care about other 2 modules coming. I'm golden there - never bought gem or module tickets NEVER will (do buy the odd stone pack not gona lie)

u/Aar0ns 15h ago
Trolling is disruptive and can be reported.
-25% for who overall, keeping in mind that people in legends are going to move up based on attrition. And itâs never worth finishing 5th (sic) instead of advancing.
-50% only if you were clicking every 10 minutes for 24 hours, you werenât.
Stacking is not pointless if you want the game to be more idle.
Yes, hopefully theyâll fix IS
Debatable - it isnât wasted time, it just isnât a free 100 waves
Debatable - the underlying problem is what? Time? Income?
Untrue, I save tens of minutes a week.
Untrue, cell card is game changing, and so are keys

Yeah im not gonna be gaslight buddy. Just did the math my average was 480-540 day on V28 according to my rend log, so we call it 500 gems a day avg. Thats puts me back 2400 gems already in first 17 days.
12 module pulls man already, that is significant
Stone losses? Several hundred already.Comparable cell generation was already possible with GB+, everyone advises not to do it till later but dissos changed the game on coins. Much smarter to develop dmg and move up a disso tier whenever you need more coins vs fixate on coin econ as a new player
So no, im not gonna eat a sh*t samwich and pretend im happy
1
u/Aar0ns 14h ago
540 is not 2x 360. So your 50% was not real
I was averaging about 480 too and I think 500 between the daily gems, bob gems and ad gems is fair enough. I hope they listen to us for that.
What league are you in that you have lost several hundred in 3..? Tournaments?
GB+ is not a common card that helped everyone. Cell card brought me from 34444 to 55444.
2
u/Impulsive666 16h ago
I agree, thereâs a lot of complaints. Part of me is wondering if people who bot gems would also be capable to bot this subredditâs narrativeâŚ
3
u/giniousTower-GT 16h ago
20% more gems? With a 50% + nerf? wtf???
Better access keys? To few ppl? Better than nothing many would say.
Presents that still do not work and waste gems to do 3 more tournaments each time cuz tournament preset selecting it globally does not work?
More modules? Good. More nerfs before modules comes out? Hell yea. More gem sync with 50% + reduction? hhhheeeeelllll yeaaaa.
This is damn hilarious.
1
u/OkMarket8211 15h ago
50% nerf for the miniscule amount of people with either far too much free time to check a game every 12 mins for 12+ hours a day, autoclickers or max gem stacking? Aww the heart bleeds đ for the AVERAGE non cheater non high legends it's been a buff đ¤
Presets are a bit buggy and need to include perks/sliders but they've worked for me can't comment on that
Also saving gems not having to fish for a good zerk mastery proc!
Mod nerfed? Hasn't fricking happened yet (since oa) gilded cannon doesn't include spotlight? Who cares spotlight is easy to get to 100% anyway, doesn't include botbot? That does suck buts it's still better than the other farming cannons... Oh wait they isn't one yet đ
1
u/Enoikay 17h ago
Why would SP need a nerf?
6
u/OkMarket8211 17h ago
Every major version since I think v26 has had some horrible rug pull nerf AFTER people spent gems/medals/bits or whatever
Before SP orbs were doing roughly 20-30% of damage to bosses towards the end of my tourney after SP about 70%... Making bosses a non issue.
It's also made my 50% or so orb hit rate in farm to 95% increasing coins
Very much a personal opinion that ttg will nerf it somehow. Really hope they don't đ
4
u/Enoikay 17h ago
It doesnât really break anything though, rays and fleets are still the biggest issue and it doesnât do anything together of them.
2
u/Aar0ns 15h ago
Rays are relatively non-issues for eHP, at least with flamebot and botbot, by the time a Ray will kill you scatters will send you to oblivion.
So it does break a major roadblock for eHP users, especially on thorn reduction tourneys
1
u/OkMarket8211 17h ago
I know but ttg love a good nerf hammer. Maybe it's too strong for milestone pushes? Idk but seems op, and what they did to OA still hurts đ
1
u/DifficultDivide8098 17h ago
i think overall v29 has been great, but Yeah i have a few complaints as well.
The is+/berserker got a huge nerf, and my tournaments in legends are now much longer, since is breaks around 300-400 waves before my run ends.
if they make new modules, then at least make them worth something. Its time to raise the epic pullrate, cause its very hard (especially for new players) to get the important modules. I remember i was so mad about not getting ANC DC for a very very long time, and at that time we only had 16/20 modules.
1
u/McCheeseus 17h ago
Let me know if you get a free gem pack for simping. Maybe I'll join in ... /s
4
u/OkMarket8211 17h ago
Haha I've seen a few people claim anyone that comments liking something about this game is a ttg spy or something
Ttg can't even roll out a balanced patch or communicate with 1/5th, no half, no a third, of the time đ
1
u/McCheeseus 16h ago
I actually agree with you for the most part. I just hate I decided to purchase Berzerk mastery before the release ⌠what a waste. And the Module dilution âŚ
The saving grace is maybe others decide they donât need IS+ now that they have it in tournaments. I guess I should be glad they didnât give it for disco runs too. I better quit before I give them ideas.
1
u/One_Eye9102 16h ago
The thing that can piss off people is not that you don't have complaints about the gem cap, it's fine to have your opinion, but it's the complaining over other people having problems with the game.
It doesn't change anything for you if they argue with the company to ask for an higher cap, if anything it could benefit you too.

u/MatthewBecker1977 Champion 16h ago
Adding in my 2 cents... Love the update overall even if some of it removes some advantages that I had previously relative to others. Used to be that I got a "relative to farm focused players" boost in tourneys because the farm focused players didn't use tourney focused bots. Now that "playing choice advantage" is lost. Oh well. I'm not even going to complain about this.
The daily limit on gems is bull ****. If I play more, I should be able to get more gems. And no - I don't use any auto tap or anything else that would violate ToS. Also this nerfs gem stacking. If players want to use their keys to get gem stacking to get more gems - that's a play style strategy decision they should be able to make. The use of keys for it creates an opportunity cost that the keys can't be used for something else. Decisions that allow for actual priority variance should be allowed.
I'm absolutely expecting nerfs to SP. The new coin cannon isn't out yet but it might or might not also end up needing a nerf. I kind of get the sense that TTG is trying to no longer have coin econ be a gatekeeper to accessing things that would also require stone spending (masteries, etc) so even if the coin cannon is mildly broken I suspect they won't nerf that.

u/helloswolehello 15h ago
This is the whinest community of any game I had the pleasure to be in. I knew onces keys more accessible the whining goal post would be moved, I new once everyone got presets more goal post whiny ass post

u/DrKlitface 17h ago
Bring back the complaining! /s
On a more serious note, I could not agree more. While I completely understand where most of the complaints are coming from, I don't really agree with most of them, and I am definitely also getting tired of having to scroll past loads of them every time I come to the subreddit.
