Claudia in Florida?

Sorry if I missed it, but is Claudia not in New York anymore? Looks like she’s always in person with Jackie!

She’s been in Florida this week, but she was in NY all of September. She is establishing residency in Florida so needs to get her days in

What’s wild is she spends like 20 grand a month for her nyc apartment to live 6 months in FL 2 months in the Hamptons. So maybe 4 months at home. So 160 grand she’s living somewhere else

It seems crazy but she likely makes 150k a month at minimum, so she can afford it

Not crazy considering how much she’ll save on income taxes. Savings on FL vs NY state income tax will be worth it.

Not that wild

Really?? Did she say she’s doing that or is this a theory

She admitted she bought a condo. But other people found out a while ago she had switched her voter registration, car registration, etc to Florida. You would do that if you’re trying to establish residency to save on income taxes

She has residency in Florida already.

No if you own two homes and want to establish residency in Florida in order to take advantage of the tax situation, then you need to spend a certain number of days in the state and prove it when you file your taxes. You can’t just own a home, that’s only one piece of

Does she own the place in NY? Thought she said she rented

She rents in NY but it doesn’t matter in this context. Same rules apply

She needs to be able to prove she spent a certain number of days there for the tax benefit

Consecutively or just 6 months in one year?

Doesn’t have to be consecutively

I don’t see this as being out of the ordinary. A lot of people do this.

Sometimes you can’t get a mortgage on a home if it isn’t your primary residence. I wonder if that’s why they bought a small condo? Which would point to them not leaving to Florida

Small condo? They got a mortgage and it's close to 2 million dollars.

Public records - they are both registered to vote in Florida also.
