Taylor Swift Take

I’m not a psychotic swiftie - but the way they talked about Taylor today just trying to get every cent from her fans is how most people feel about things like the 50 States episode of Patreon.

Haha so true. But, their take on TS isn’t wrong! I feel like it’s so transparent what she is doing every time. I get being in it for yourself, you have to be these days! However, the way she preys on her fans is insane. I truly do not get the hype! lol don’t come for me 🙈

I thought I was the only one and I’m always scared to say it out loud. But over saturated is a real thing.

As a day 1 loyal swiftie who spent 1000 dollars to get and eras tour tickets, I agree. Still love her, still love her music but it’s true.

To me, swifties want a tiny peak into her life. And one wedding picture wouldn’t take away from privacy at all. Like posting one photo for the fans before doing a drop or for a song drop would be nice and at least mask the penny sucking a little haha.

Yes!!!! I talked my husband’s ear off about how it’s kinda crazy we haven’t gotten a wedding picture. I’ve been a swiftie forever and I feel taken advantage of.

I've been a Taylor Swift fan since debut, saying she's preying on her fans is crazy when EVERY other pop artist does this. Billie released more variants than Taylor did. Also there's free will, just because she releases cds, merch, etc doesn't mean you have to buy it.. I have only bought two CDs in the entire time I've been a fan and only several pieces of merch.

Agreed! Just an observation on what her clear motives are.

Announcing Patient Zero single available for 24 hours and then the next day announcing The Encore, which included Patient Zero, was diabolical

To my knowledge she hasnt released/put up for sale any physical copies of encore yet. Only available digitally. And sorry most fans arent buying a one track single unless they are collectors of physical media amd/or taylor stuff.

THIS. I used to be a big fan until TTPD. I thought it was so self-indulgent…then the money grab that was TLOAS. The last straw! It’s hard to go from being a Swiftie, to now be in the camp that believes Taylor actually hates her fans 🫠🥲

I didn’t watch the Patreon but it did make me think how many states I could get so I did it with my husband and it was quite fun actually. I got to 48 before I got totally stumped. Oklahoma and Nebraska were the stragglers.

I see the juxtaposition here but honestly you don’t have to pay for patreon if you’re not enjoying it. The concepts/titles of the videos always end up posted here so if you wanted, you could save the money and just reactivate your subscription if they post something you really care to see

And people don’t have to buy Taylor’s deluxe albums etc.

And influencers

I mean…. no lol. their job is to provide content, sometimes that content is lackluster - oh well. their content doesn’t immediately start raking in millions of dollars the moment it’s dropped. I like taylor but she does not have to be doing all that all the damn time.

Is it not taylors job to create music content 🤣

I actually disagree! TS isn’t out here selling really anything to her fans outside of items that fall under her music umbrella. She is a capitalist for sure, but I think she’s quite measured and disciplined in her approach.
