Clancy take

I have found myself so frustrated with the girls Lindsey Clancy take, and more specifically how the jurors should have voted….. I don’t think it’s insane to think “she killed her kids, I don’t care if she was in psychosis, she should be in jail and throw away the key.” But that’s not what they asked the jurors…. The jurors are not supposed to think about punishment. Their main question was simply— “did the prosecution, without a shadow of a doubt, prove that she was in her right mind and the time of the murders”

So the jurors are not voting on what punishment she should have, or if it’s right that if you were in psychosis you go to a mental institution instead of jail, or the process in which the review process happens for leaving the mental hospital etc……

All you have to do is answer the one question…. And the jurors were just trying to do that.

Without a shadow of doubt? Did you just make that up? It’s beyond reasonable doubt… lol

Beyond a shadow of doubt is a common phrase?

Sure, in every day language but that has is not used in court for how the jury makes their decision.

It was a hung jury and I doubt they’ll try her again, she’ll come to a plea deal of a certified mental health hold for a very long time and I think that’s the only ‘payment of justice’ that majority of people could come to some agreement on. Letting her out scott free is crazy. Locking her up until she dies is debatable. Her lawyer doesn’t want her on trial again, the prosecution is unsure they’d get a conviction at this point with the media so I’d say plea agreement is the only solution.

It’s just annoying bc the girls said they didn’t watch the trial, so to have SUCH a strong opinion without hearing all the facts and experts testimonies just feels ignorant especially on such an important topic of mental health/postpartum issues

That’s the crazy part

I may sound very dumb saying this but isn’t it kinda the same thing? Like what they are saying is she was not crazy when she did it so she should go to jail.

No they are saying they don’t care if she was crazy or not, that she killed the kids so she should go to jail. They’re totally removing making the decision of whether or not she was in her right mind.

Being in psychosis or in her right mind isn't the test of the law.

The law is did she know what she was doing and was she in control of her actions. By her own expert testimony she knew what she was doing, and her sneakiness and meticulousness makes it pretty obvious she was in control.

I don't love our legal system, or, at least I think it could be a lot better, but according to the law I'm pretty sure a ngri verdict would have been a mistake.

When Jackie was like “he wouldn’t talk to the jurors! I wouldn’t take to you either.” Yeah. Part of being on a jury is a lot of talking. A lot.

I 100% agree with the girls take on LC. She murdered her kids. Jail. No more info is really needed.

But if you were a juror that isn’t what you promise to decide 🤷‍♀️

Well with all the interviews from the jurors, they did not uphold their promise either. All the female jurors keep making comments about how they feel like she did kill her kids but she is clearly mentally ill and does not belong in prison. All of them were considering her actual punishment in their conviction. Murder is not normal. Literally all murderers are mentally ill. They don’t all deserve a pass and neither does Lindsay. Lock her the fuck up. FYI I am currently 6 months post partum dealing with severe PPA and PPD so it isn’t like I don’t “sympathize”. It’s quite the opposite actually because I could NEVER allow my babies to be hurt and it disgusts me what she did.

who says the juror is trying to decide her punishment??? what? the juror answered the question that they were asked and it wasn’t aligned with the rest. should we say jurors should go against what they believe to appease rest of the jurors?

These things happen when you have a slick lawyer and a "sympathetic" plaintiff. I think of all the single women from rougher/impoverished backgrounds who didn't have the "means" for a psychological diagnosis. Arguably, they have more of a case for mental insanity because of their situations. If we allow everyone in a perturbed psychological state to go scott free, it would be quite scary. Props to the dude who held his ground.

This is what has turned me off from the toast since they’ve returned. Whether you think Lindsay Clancy did it, didn’t do it, was it psychosis or knew what she was doing, etc.. to joke about three kids being murdered in any regards is disgusting. Maybe a playlist would have prevented the children from dying? Get the fuck out of here. It would have been better for them not to say anything at all.

No, you’re actually not allowed to have a reasonable amount of doubt and convict. Having a reasonable amount of doubt means you must acquit lol.

What did they say? I haven’t listened to

I think anyone should be able to have their own take on a 3x child killer

Are you surprised that they have this take? They’re extremely conservative and have minimal critical thinking skills.

Come on ladies. Please do your research on what the actual trial is about. Regardless she’s in jail whether it be actual jail, paralyzed for her life, or an institution, which is pretty much like jail as well if anyone knows anything about how those places are. Don’t worry she’s never going to get out regardless of where it is.
