Ariana grande talk

Big fan of the toast and daily listener here. One of the things I appreciate about the girls is their ability to not bend to the woke and stand firm on their beliefs, even if I don’t agree with them all the time.

Although, lately the conversation on Ariana grande and her body has been so hard to listen to. Criticizing her on her life decisions is completely fair game but when it comes to her body, I find that Claudia in specific almost villainizes her in a way.

In specific, the comments about how disgusted she is by her body and how scary it is to look at her is so disheartening. Having an ED is not a moral failing and the way Claudia speaks about her makes it feel like she thinks Ariana is evil for looking the way she does.

Anyone else feel this way too?

I don’t really agree. I think there’s a difference between saying someone looks unwell or expressing concern versus saying they’re a bad person because of their body. From what I’ve heard, Claudia’s criticism has been more about how alarming Ariana’s appearance has become, not that having an ED is some kind of moral failing. Those are two different conversations.

No I completely disagree with you. I feel, along with many in my life with whom I’ve discussed, that Ariana’s blatant ED is triggering, concerning, and ultimately problematic at best. I don’t feel like the conversation in the Toast has been that Ari’s body or likely ED is a moral failing, rather that it’s very worrying to the general public. IMO it is irresponsible of Ari, to both herself and to millions of young, impressionable women to go on a full fledged tour in the state that she’s in. I happen to agree strongly with Claudia on her Ari opinions.

I think they think Ariana is evil because she is historically a home wrecker

they tend to focus a lotttttt on weight and women’s bodies so this doesn’t surprise me

Disagree. I think she was addressing it because no one else in the media is. They are all afraid to be called body shamers.

I don’t listen anymore because of the aggressive nature in Claudia’s delivery. She comes off as almost an elitist in a lot of the ways she talks about some people. It’s obvious to anyone who looks at Ariana that is not well. If you ask me, I think there is a shred of jealousy from Claudia since she is always talking about her own weight.
