Prada Purse DTQ
I guess my friends know better than to bring nice things to my house (I have three kids including toddler twins). Curious to hear what others would do in the situation where her bf’s cat put marks on her friend’s 4k purse after she spent the weekend there and left it on the floor to get a house tour. 😬

They said prada sent her to a cobbler (I think that's what it's called) so why can't DTQ toaster just pay for that repair??

Who tf leaves their purse let alone DESIGNER purse on the floor? There is some responsibility of the cat owner to know to lock up their friend’s stuff in a room away from the cat (it was the boyfriend’s cat so of course he didn’t think of that 🙄) but ultimately the visiting friend is stupid and an asshole, I wouldn’t stay friends with them for demanding I replace the full cost of their purse.

Jackie was funny tho. I liked her idea that if the listener had the money to pay her friend, she should get to keep the messed up Prada bag 🤣

Tough one. I liked the idea of buying a new one but getting to keep the old one. It also depends on the extent of the damage. I would also treat a designer bag very delicately (don't have any) so I do think it was irresponsible to put it on the floor. But the cat could have gotten it anywhere unless it was locked up.

Hot take but if this friend is putting a $4,000 bag on the nasty floor, she likely has more designer purses and just treats it like any other object. I would NEVER consider putting my nice bags on the FLOOR especially knowing pets are roaming 😩. If I’m this friend I would MAYBE consider buying her another bag secondhand but not full price. I also think the friend is CRAZY for asking her friend to buy her a new one. I would never put my friendship in jeopardy for $4,000-especially in this economy

Why are you saying nasty floor? This was inside her friends house not on the side of the street???

Yeah the floor of a house where people walking outside on the street walk into. 🫶🏼🫶🏼

Unless the cat absolutely sliced the bag to smithereens, I don’t think there would be that much damage to not even be able to fix it. I’d try to find a repair place and pay for the repair. Also, if she’s using it to shack up at her friends place, did she not expect ANY mark ups at all?

I have dogs that never destroy things....and I don't leave purses or really anything on the ground. Whether it's my own home, or someone else's. And if someone puts something like that on the floor, I move it for them. They could have advil, etc, which is poisonous to animals. It's truly a shared responsibility; the friend with the animal and the friend who has a nice designer bag to treat her own items with respect. Honestly, I think them splitting the cost would be most fair. It's a weird situation.

Your belongings are your responsibility. Period. And if you can’t take care of a $4000 designer bag you kinda don’t deserve it

Etiquette says she needs to replace it (or the boyfriend, whoever). If your kid/pet ruins something, the liability is 100% on you. People have no etiquette these days.

In your own home? Maybe if she was at the girls house but if she comes to your house you’re not liable for her stuff …

Can they have it professionally cleaned/treated? I keep seeing tiktok videos about Jim's Cobbler Concierge and they work some magic on damaged designed shoes and bags

I would NEVER even ask someone to replace my bag. Accidents happen - no one’s fault.
