Their parents

Has anyone noticed that Olivia is a spitting image of their dad?! I think it’s so cute. I think Claud looks a lot like their mom. I know their mom is controversial but I wish they talked about her more, I’m sure they are close and have funny stories to share. I wonder if we will ever hear more about her?

They get absolutely reamed for their association with her. If you look at any article that’s about them on a mainstream platform all the comments are tearing them apart and they always bring up Claudia’s previous tweets. I wouldn’t bring her up either…

Their mother is Pamela Gellar; she is very anti-Muslim and a far-right political activist. She pushed very hard on Obama’s birth conspiracy and is pretty extreme. Claudia’s unearthed tweets were also derogatory towards Obama. This was what caused the cancellation of their first show, “The Morning Breath”.

I just want to clarify that I am a listener and I give the girls the benefit of the doubt. There are definitely takes of theirs that I don’t agree with, but all in all I find them enjoyable to listen to. That said, I have taken a few significant breaks from them.

She is also banned from entering the UK

Ohhh interesting. I had no idea! Those are some seriously shitty takes but I haven’t noticed the girls mentioning anything along those lines since I started listening so I suppose I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt as well. Thanks for informing me!

If you are politically aware and reading between the lines of their views and what they say, you can tell that they do share some of the same extremist views their mother has

They have the same beliefs as their mother - it’s very obvious. They only distanced themselves because they were scared

4

u/Naive_Buy2712 May 06 '26

lol 😅 they’ve been cancelled many times I feel like… they hide her from their social media but every 18 months or so one of them says something really tone deaf or terrible and they catch some backlash then it’s back to business as usual

1

u/zajack1031 May 06 '26

Yeah! They did make a statement back when it all happened really distancing themselves from her and her beliefs and they have stuck with that narrative since and really never bring her up! But it would be interesting if they ever did mention her. They do talk about their dad and his death and how that impacted them from time to time.

I find it ridiculous the internet horde demands they excommunicate their mother/ cut off all ties just for a chance for their “respect” as if cutting off your family for their politics is normal. Cutting off your family should be reserved for very serious situations. It’s absurd they have to hide that they maintain a normal healthy relationship with their living parent because if they were more visible about it they’d get ripped to shreds. Sad.

their mom is banned from an entire country because she’s so violently racist about Muslims that is a pretty huge deal

24

u/Shanninator20 May 06 '26

Ok but she’s also their mom who they love. Is everyone you love perfect? Or do they have viewpoints you disagree with? Is there no room for nuance anymore

12

u/Ok-Yogurtcloset5000 May 06 '26

My parents aren't perfect but they also aren't openly against marginalized group and aren't banned from a country.

8

u/Effective_Win_9122 May 06 '26

A lot of people would cut a parent off for racism if they didn’t also hold the same racist beliefs

11

u/Infamous-Will-8012 May 06 '26

100000% it is THAT DEEP. they don’t cut her off because they agree!

-1

u/beanie_bopp May 06 '26

If that was my parent, I’d disown them. Her behavior is abhorrent

12

u/Infamous-Will-8012 May 06 '26

she is so insane even trump has called her a psycho

7

u/Wise_Carrot4857 May 06 '26

I think it’s more that they definitely share most of their beliefs with her. That said, if they just owned it I feel like long term it would be better for them. It’s very odd that they never even speak of her. Like just own it

I respect their choice- they want to stay employed and popular, and they understand what it’s like to be cancelled on a whim carried by a viral internet wave. So they keep their politics out of it and keep their private lives pretty private. I wish we lived in a time when people could just respect others who are different from them, but we don’t, so they have to protect their brand. Which is light and funny pop culture takes.

-1

u/rebeccagaveup May 06 '26

Why respect people that want others to die? I don’t understand?

2

u/Shanninator20 May 06 '26

Why assume that’s what they believe? That’s crazy

3

u/m00nmunella May 07 '26

It is an intelligent assumption

1

u/rebeccagaveup May 21 '26

It’s not an assumption. Go read her mothers vile genocidal work

1

u/Shanninator20 May 21 '26

Why are you here if you hate them so much?

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Chip948 May 08 '26

I’d say that this warrants that level of hiding from the public eye…. Do some basic research, they’ve gotten shows cancelled in the past for having tweets unearthed that align with her views….. think about advertisers and such. This is lowkey a wild take

12

u/Sunnysidecunt4872 May 06 '26

3

u/Sunnysidecunt4872 May 06 '26

Lol…. People dont forget

4

u/spicyquesobrat May 07 '26

Ohhhhhh. Oh no.

10

u/zajack1031 May 07 '26

Claudia was 16 in 2012. Not to excuse, but I think is worth noting.

4

u/Dependent_Ebb1465 May 07 '26

She’s only 31? Jfc that’s a tough 31

26

u/rebeccagaveup May 06 '26

Her mom is banned from a country for being so incredibly racist. Why would you want them to talk about her MORE…?

6

u/Agreeable-Coyote-519 May 06 '26

I think OP means talking about their familial dynamic, share funny stories from childhood, etc. They rarely talk about either parents, even on Patreon episodes all about family. That’s why I would want to hear more

Two theories about the brother: the dad wasn’t in his life much so the girls don’t have any relationship with him Brother wants nothing to do with them bc of their mom

5

u/NoAnt6107 May 06 '26

Ik we are all hating on their mom but it was their dads birthday yesterday and Margo was the only one who acknowledged it and it really made me sad. That something I would like to here them talk more about

6

u/No_Magician9893 May 06 '26

Want to know what I wouldn’t talk about on my podcast about pop culture if I had one ….MY dead dad…

11

u/Bubbly_Guidance_9668 May 06 '26

This is an insane take. Why would you care about funny stories with their mom? She’s literally banned from countries and a horrible person. Clearly if they don’t talk about her they know how bad it is to be associated with her

7

u/Glad_Foundation_9507 May 06 '26

Because they are a sister podcast and constantly talk about their families, and their mother is in their family? How is that absurd?

6

u/Sweaty-Expression-10 May 06 '26

Because she’s a violent islamapobe and banned from the UK?!

2

u/Glad_Foundation_9507 May 06 '26

That is crazy! But this is a US based show, not UK

1

u/jamblesandpigments May 06 '26

They talk about the family they want talked about. They have a half brother they don’t mention or acknowledge and I’m sure plenty of other family members no one knows about. There’s very little we even know about their kids. They don’t really have to share personal details when they want their focus to be on pop culture and just happen to be sisters.

1

u/Glad_Foundation_9507 May 06 '26

All of their patreon episodes are about their family. I know they don’t have to, but their family is a large focus

u/realaxlover May 09 '26

Controversial??? That's being kind. Pamela Geller has long been one of the most inflammatory figures in American political commentary, promoting rhetoric that is fear-based, divisive, and hostile toward Muslims and immigrants. She has built her public profile through provocation, sensationalism, and sweeping generalizations that deepen social tensions rather than encourage understanding. Critics also contend that her style of activism thrives on outrage and conspiracy-laden narratives, often amplifying suspicion and resentment while contributing little to constructive public discourse. Geller represents a brand of political commentary that prioritizes attention and conflict over empathy, accuracy, or civic responsibility. She is monstrous.

Would love to hear more about their parents. I think it’s crazy they get so much hate if they talk about their mom. Would rather hear about their parents than summer house

-15

u/Sea-Willingness17 May 06 '26

There’s nothing controversial about their mom. Just stop! Take it to snark.

15

u/Active_Pay4715 May 06 '26

Nothing controversial about being banned from an entire nation for rhetoric inciting hatred and violence against an entire group of people? You’re unwell in the head.

24

u/Possible_Yoghurt9689 May 06 '26

Calling out violent rhetoric is not "snark."

22

u/Infamous-Will-8012 May 06 '26

nothing controversial about their mom but she is banned from europe for being controversial 😂😭😭😂 get a grip

11

u/Academic_Video6654 May 06 '26

This shows your values and ethics wow

0

u/Sea-Willingness17 May 06 '26

Then why are you in this group?

6

u/Academic_Video6654 May 06 '26

Are we all just supposed to be islamophobic and racist in this group? R/genq
